Had a 93 back in 93 and I loved it. Bought what was supposed to be a trashed 93 for $800 couple years ago; no title. Scraped the paint off the frame and ran VIN turned out to be a 92. Now in the sloooow process of a full restoration... just about everything needs replacing, but still a fun process to go from old junk to almost good as new. Hope you do something cool with your 93, I'll def keep watching.
@jimmy_dirtbike11 ай бұрын
Awesome! I heard they turn on a dime and have the perfect amount of flex to the frame. There a 94 in the works currently, but I’m gonna restore the 93 as well! Gonna file for lost title and jump through those fun hoops 😅 thanks for watching!

@@jimmy_dirtbike They do turn, well suited for SX/AX tracks, but they suffer from bad head shake causing serious arm pump by second lap. I remember all the CR guys adding steering dampeners for moto and enduros. Lots of power down low, good mid, flatter on top. My best like on the 93 cr250 was all the great memories. Can wait to see your final result! As long as you have fun can't go wrong.
@jimmy_dirtbike11 ай бұрын
I had a 2001 CR250 awhile back that suffered the same headshake... It was a reason why I opted to sell it and pick up a YZ250x because I was also using it as a woods bike. Terrible one at that... It looped me last January for the 100th time on a steep hill and I was just over it. I got a framed 97 cr125 for the Broke 2 Built contest last year and after riding it, I am in love with the steel framed CRs so I'm really hoping this CR is a weapon on the local MX track! Thanks for sharing your input dude, I really appreciate what the guys who were riding them in the 90s have to say! @@darkenedskiesahead3670

Everyone doesn’t have sponsors or an endless budget to rebuild a bike. All you did was pick apart the bike. He did the best he could ! I would give my left nut for what you call a clapped out bike. I work everyday & can’t afford one. You paid $800 what did you expect ?

Thanks for your input… Not really sure what you’re bent out of shape about. Have you ever tried to buy a used dirt bike? Most of the time they’ve been ridden into the ground. I gave him more than what it was worth.

Funny, as soon as you started draining that fuel I thought to myself 'Doesn't look like there's any oil in there'. 😄 Also I was becoming intrigued as to what was under that car cover behind you. The peek of the mag at the front and those curves under the cover were appealing.

One brand of Amsoil 2 stroke oil is light colored (gold). W hen its mixed you can't tell if the gas has any oil in it. More than I time couldn't remember if I had added oil to my jug. I stopped using it because of that an use Amsoil dominator which mixes red.
@jimmy_dirtbike11 ай бұрын
I can see why you’d switch! If that gas was mixed with oil, I sure couldn’t tell. I didn’t trust the previous owner to mix it correctly anyhow. He gave me all his dirt bike gear with the bike and I didn’t get a mixing cup so 😅😂 I mix Yamalube (dark purple) in a white VP jug so I know I’m using the right stuff!

Why would anyone care about a title on a dirtbike? I see people on FB talking about this but what purpose would it serve? If the bikes in my hands it’s mine just like this bottle of Diet Coke I’m drinking. My bikes are NEVER going to ride the street so no need to register the bike for anything. Never understood that.
@jimmy_dirtbike7 ай бұрын
I agree. Places like Alabama don’t even issue them. Washington and Idaho where I live is pretty strict regardless of whether the bike is ridden on road or not. You can’t even register a dirt bike without a title in Washington state in fact nor does Washington recognize you as the true owner. It’s fairly easy to turn a dirt bike into a plated bike though. Idaho is more relaxed being that you can register it for off road without a title, but they don’t recognize you as the true owner if you sell it. What it comes down to is did the state get paid on the sale and if it gets stolen, you can report it as such and have a slightly better shot at getting it back. Again, I agree with you 100%!
