@@franslay8981 I don't know if it is as obvious as you say, since his only reliable block card was Power Through for acts 1 and 2, no barricade. As the run continued, he was drawing majority wounds. Also, fire breathing helped out a lot in the early act, so that's why he leaned into it. Great for sentries. Better for AOE than body slam

You know an archetype is bad when the best sts player in the world almost dies multiple times during a run with a near perfect seed. Still, getting these super rare runs to work is why the game is so fun. Hats off to you sir!

i think the perfect seed thing is a lil generous. for sure a lotta good rng here. the early heal relics carried a lotta the run, and there were some nice synergies. the lack of second wind in particular, is a rough one. there were also a good amount of key relics that could have helped speed things up, mainly bag of prep or gambling chip, to fix those awful turn 1's. the lack of mass exhaust held it back imo, being able to quickly get rid of mass filler could have greatly boosted efficiency. for sure the wound deck archetype is pretty trash tho, which breaks my heart to say lmao

I admit this being the perfect seed is a bit of an exaggeration, but it still was a really lucky seed for the archetype. I kinda wish they would buff these bad archetypes and nerf the overpowered ones for the sake of shaking up the gameplay more. It feels like every game I play on A20 is rolling a dice on do I get the good synergies or not. But then again, sts card balance isn't geared towards A20, and people who are good enough at this game like Baalor do make it work so, oh well. Sts is still the most well balanced card game I've ever played despite all that!

@@elton0139 i def feel this. i think its most noticeable on Watcher, where the various infinite setups are SO strong compared to everything else. and then there's just a bunch of garbage cards in her pool. it's a shame a lot of the cooler concepts or archetypes require so much additional work to make perform well :(

tbf he took 2 feel no pains early with no exhaust early on, then complain about slow deck. Almost costed him the game imo. Also this seed gave him those 3 early synergy cards then denied him any status giving card, nor good exhausting card which he's going for, for a good while.

I’ve always thought it was one of the best relics. Most enemies follow a certain pattern, and even if you draw all attacks and no defends, even if you didn’t have runic dome, you would just end up having one less energy

Not being able to see intents can be really scary and even run-ending on certain fights, but the key is that it doesn't matter if you're able to use that extra energy to outright kill or block all damage. I'd absolutely consider it better than Sozu or Ectoplasm in most scenarios - seeing enemy intent is much less valuable resource than potions or gold, especially since majority of enemies follow a strict or at least predictable attack pattern

ya. at least for me, it just feels like the game basically emplores you to play a certain thing, and if you're not taking the bait, you get screwed over. like theres many times i've tried to force this exact build and i either wouldn't ever see fire breathing or wouldn't ever see power through or something similar. the game is like, "here, have this strength card. oh since i offered you the other strength stacking build card, have this one now." and 3 shops in a row you get the same power up for sale you're like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Weird. Did anyone see how Firebreathing hit Guardian twice after his phase change triggered but before the block came down. Then the fourth wound hit the block. 10:50

Perhaps it took all the damage from the initial 5 hand card draw as “one attack”, then guardian transformed, then the evolve caused more draw, and this drew another wound that then hit the block. Good observation!

The strength of the boss increases with every power played. Its sometimes wiser to just be powerless in that fight

For instance this run was powerbased so it was hard to avoid not playing your powers. In other cases its often better to just play the most important (echo form, dark embrace, rushdown etc.).

Wouldn't the Writhe curse be good for the relic due to the nature of the build or is there another reason you didn't take that deal at the ? event?

I think it's because you need to play your powers before status and curses can be impactful; Evolve + Fire Breathing. So writhe is guaranteed minus 1 draw on turn one, and won't be beneficial until discard pile was shuffled.

I can’t beat heart with IronClad on any Ascension and you do it on A20 while not even being able to see the enemy intent due to relic. Absolutely nuts man.

Ironclad has a bit of a learning curve, I felt like I broke through a wall once I realized the strength of exhaust and exhaust synergy. Also a lot of the clad’s powers are kind of a trap and can screw you over if your deck isn’t ready to handle them. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on your runs!

IMO, Ironclad has had the most fluctuation in terms of my confidence/enjoyment with the character. Keep at it, you'll start clicking with some archetypes soon enough.
