@janehassall81715 сағат бұрын
@anglerred Thank you for your lovely comment. It is heartbreaking what a so called Labour government have done to their own people. As a country we have always appreciated what we had, and over many years we have contributed to loads of different causes. There are a lot of people in the community working tirelessly to supply cheap meals, a cup of tea and a talk in a warm environment, and offering help where they can. For a country to treat its elderly and most vulnerable in this way is evil and frightening. I worked on an elderly care ward serving the food and refreshments in our local hospital, and on our ward patients were getting ready to be discharged. However that would be delayed as many smaller hospitals have been closed and that is where they could go for rehabilitation and to free beds in the bigger hospital. If parents aren’t well enough to go home, then some may go into a care home which takes time to process and to find an available one. We had a Normandy Veteran and a Land Army lady as well, who I would love to listen to their tales. It infuriates me that the government don’t recognise the sacrifices this generation made, and how disgustingly they are treating them. My husband is 68 and I am nearly 66 and we daren’t think how we will be treated when we are even older. Many people realise that we are facing a mountain to climb to change things back to any form of normality. We count our blessings as we sold our property last year), before it was taken off us to pay for long term care), so we are fortunate compared to a lot of people. We now rent but fear that the Sheriff of Nottingham will attack our savings! Robin Hood where are you? My husband has health conditions, but at the moment I am well enough to stand up and be counted, so I am willing to stand up to injustice. If we don’t face the tyranny, I dread to think what is coming next. I certainly hope we can fix it. Regards,Jane.

Fuel poverty is directly caused by net zero. It happened in Germany and it’s happening here now.

The NHS have recently removed a whole load of medications from NICE list to save money The only people who know this are the patients who no longer receive their meds, like me.... I have a severe eye problem and the GP surgery switched me from a very helpful drug to one that cost half and is not at all helpful

Age concern recommends 'Heat your home to a comfortable temperature throughout the day. Age UK recommends a minimum of 18C. Check your thermostat or use a room thermometer to monitor temperature'. Starmer and his party must realise that old age pensioner are going to die of cold this winter by taking this action to stop the fuel allowance. How many will have to die before this ends.

Starmer's too busy on his world freebie-collecting tour to care, while Reeves is rubbing her hand in glee, thinking of how much money will be saved by not having to pay out pensions to those who die. I don't believe either has a conscience.

I think they're doing it on purpose. They want them gone, to save on state pensions. We're living in dem0nic times.

NHS recommends 18c minimum, 20c if you are older and have health issues. Government knows this so it’s pretty clear they couldn’t care less how many elderly people die. Meanwhile the energy companies are raking in massive profits.

It’s 0 degrees where I am, my mum is 75 and we lost our dad earlier this year so there is one pension going into the house. She terrified to turn on her heating, she is just over the limit so cannot get pension credits, which means no heating allowance either. She also has osteoarthritis and mobility issues from it, So all she has is a gas fire to keep warm which she’s also loathe to keep switched on because of the cost. It’s absolutely ridiculous, she also worked all her life, from the age of 14! Liebour are a disgrace

My dad, 85, mixed dementia, worked all his life, owns his house, has just lost his winter allowance, why you might ask, well he has a little cash in his bank now that takes him over the threshold by a couple of 100 quid, that cash came from my mams life insurance. It boils my fkg piss no ends.

@davidwhitton55194 сағат бұрын
They are a bunch of self entitled selfish bastards, if those mp's had any ounce of decency they would all get together and fore go their second home heating allowance, not that they should get it anyway, and donate it to the old age pensioners in most need.
