If you have 900 bucks to drop you can just change the whole clutch basket with a yoyodyne clutch system. Imma do that soon.

Thank you for the advice. Just hit 1700 miles. The ninja 400 is my first bike and I love it. Doing first maintenance on it now. I got the black model but the red looks really nice.

I heard from other videos that the springs in the actual clutch are not too sturdy and people have put stronger springs to lessen the sloppy clutch release and the feeling of a slipping clutch.

Thanks for the suggestion! Im thinking of replacing those springs as well when I replace the clutch. Hopefully that fixes the loose slip feel.

There is nothing wrong with a stock Ninja 400. I have zero jerking at any speed when I let off the throttle. Don't listen to this bozo. Put gas in it, do your maintenance & this great bike will treat you great.

The second mod is total shite, 1st gear is supposed to be touchy, that is apart of riding you have to learn how to use first sensitively, all you are doing is losing hp and making it slower. If you want a smooth riding experience at slow speeds just keep it in second. No hate though, just sayin.

@@Jacob_4D having ridden quite a few other bikes, none of them had that choppy cut to the gas the 400 has stock. The bike I learned on and rode 3 years was smooth in first gear. You do you though 🤷‍♂️

@@Dsanrides Why not keep it in second though? my 2023 ninja 400 rides happily in second going 9mph

@@Jacob_4D great question. I’ve thought about this before when riding. I’ve tried taking off in second quite often. Just too much clutch burn and not enough zip out of the stop for my taste. I really like the booster plug mod, having come from a carbureted bike, gotta have quick take off in first, but also smooth, not clunky. Cheers
