Home Free is famous for their ability to just HAVE FUN, not taking themselves too seriously, and yet turning out seriously amazingly good music. Their "Country Fried Pop Medley," "Champagne Taste (On A Beer Budget)," "Hillbilly Bone," and many other songs show this lighter side, more or less in contrast to their hard-hitting songs like "One Voice" and "Everybody Walkin' This Land." They can choose the tone they want to strike, and then they can hit that tone, dead center, and leave us gasping for breath with the giggles, or gasping with tears in our eyes. This is the mark of masters of their art, and these gentlemen are that, and then some.

The best thing about Home Free is their ability to not take themselves too seriously. Like, they are guys who do this sort of stuff and seem very down to earth even with their success and they give their audience, live or otherwise, a good time and plenty of laughs. I've only recently discovered them myself through an Instagram post of them performing Travelling Soldier and I fell in love with them for that. But now I'm like absolutely obsessed with their music. It's all I listen to now and their videos bring me joy on rainy days. They are AMAZINGLY talented - especially Adam with the crazy vocalisations he can do (that no-monica thing he can do is absolutely insane and never knew a human could make the noises he can). But this entire group is just so darn talented and it blows my mind each time I hear something I havent heard from them.

I knew once I saw you'd reacted to this one that they were gonna break your brain from just the "What am I watching?" point of view! These guys just are able to make you feel something every single video. Part of their allure is that they have something for everyone. And they aren't so full of themselves that they've forgotten how to poke fun at themselves. They just seem so approachable, and from what I've heard from people that have seen them live, they are very interactive with their fans! For a few more serious message songs check out Everybody Walkin this Land, Land of the Free(an original co-written by Tim) What We Need is Love(also written by Tim) One Voice, and People. Just to show how socially aware they are and they don't sidestep an issue just because it might not be popular. Great reaction!

When Austin made the high pitch trilling sound with his finger on his mouth. I thought that was a neat trick. Such a fun song all around. Country Fried Pop was another fun mashup of songs. Also, their version of 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton is another great song. But you have to watch the music video and also a live performance of this song. Just amazing to watch!

Great video. I did actually GASP aloud when you didn’t know “the Thong Song” by Sisqo. Every club was playing it that year …and into the next (and yes, I was sneaking in just to dance 😂. Was 15.) eventually they played a clean version at school dances …my school was pretty chill (i mean, they played In Da Club by 50 and it wasn’t as censored as some of the newest clean versions are hahaha.) I mean, thong…it’s a clothing item. XD funnily enough, the Sir Mixalot song “Rappers Delight” also got played a lot at dances…i think I am remembering things through rose tinted glasses, I’m pretty sure I didn’t think they were that awesome. Ah, no worries, not much missed by not knowing Sisqos hit, though it can be fun just as silly stuff to dance to😅

"ridiculous" MEANS "worthy of ridicule". NOTHING "ridiculous" about any part of that video. "Wiggle wiggle" in the background of the first piece was a foreshadowing dovetail to the second piece.; Jason Derulo - "Wiggle". Similarly, both visual and musical dovetailing were used between "Big Butts" and "Thong". This medley incorporates the arranging techniques of mashups and the visual style of pentimento.

Im a year late I know, but I saw them doing this live (on KZbin) and like… a few months later found the original video. It’s so funny, and I had the same reaction as you at the beginning with Austin and Tim haha

Just plain fun. Guy in overalls is Buegs. An acapella singer and friend of Rob's. He is a hoot.

Chris Rupp did a critique/bts of this song on his channel. Very well done, and just as funny.

Why do I feel like you didn’t know the thong song from sisqo?! That’s what the video looks like.

You missed the most awkward thing in the intro: Austin sticking his tongue out!

Agree with the other comments, you need to check out All about that bass. Great for body positivity but so much fun.

Gonna drop this here. Chris rupp told us in a video on his channel that Layne helped with the arrangement and the “thong” bit is from that 😂😉

Tim is beatboxing, which generates spit, which he is “sharing” with Rob.
