This painting is the 3rd in a series for an upcoming exhibition.
I use simple techniques with clear explaining of decision making.
I talk through the beginning, middle and end stages of the painting process.
You will need sturdy paper (I used A4 watercolour paper), acrylic paints of your choice (I used indigo, cadmium red deep hue, lemon yellow and titanium white).
I also used paintbrushes, sponge and a palette knife.
I did use glazing medium to enhance transparency of the acrylic paint (you could use water instead, just a better quality finish with glazing medium).

I hope you enjoy.

This is great. I love the large areas of neutral color juxtaposed with the small shapes of brighter color. What a great composition! Loved seeing you glaze too. So nice! 😍

Aw thanks Kathy!!! I’m really happy with it. I would’ve liked the glazing to be a wee bit more muted but overall it’s been a good learning curve and outcome!!! 🥰

Thanks myriam, sorry I’m so late replying, I had to put YT aside for a few days as I had a lot of paintings I needed to pull together for an exhibition and a charity event. I’m terrible for leaving everything until the last minute!!! 🫣🥰❤️

Hi Judith, I love this painting. I think it’s my most professional looking I’ve made…although maybe a little bit interesting, but hopefully one day the 2 will combine ❤️

Thanks Eddie. Sorry I’m so late, I’ve been up to my eyes in life, it’s so distracting 🙄😖😂. I really like them too but they don’t transfer so well to video as they tend to go off at many tangents despite any planning!!! But I’m hoping I’ve learnt a lot to transfer back to the gel plate 🤞🏻

Hi Kirsten 🥰 That was really interesting to see how you start and then develop step by step a painting, that sent me high up in the sky, as if I was flying over a landscape with red roofs of houses, a big area of water, some fields with yellow crop and green meadows (at 19.40). Gave me space to dream. Loved the "flight" very much and love your experiment. Britta (who is normally very scared😒 by travelling per airplane )

Hi Britta, thank you!!!!!!! I think this is probably my best painting to date with regard to being a bit more correct use of elements of art. I think the balance came up well, although you know me…I have made some changes, just subtle colour ones. It’s actually in an exhibition for the month of may!!! Which is why I’m late replying. I’ve been framing and selecting new paintings to hang. I’ve also been putting some smaller pieces together for a charity event my daughter is running. Today’s been my first peaceful day…it’s only 10.50 am though…. 😂 Airplanes are ok for me but I am nervous of the start and finish. ❤️
