I bought one of these the month they came out, imported it from CN... i remember using it for the first time, the wow factor was off the charts, everyone thought it was so advanced and looked stunning, been a fan of Oppo ever since and have a Find X3 Pro as my daily driver....love the vid, always interesting to see one brought back to life, the engineering needed to make these was so advanced.....Thanks for the little trip down memory lane Hugh!

Yet people say Apple are the ones making repairs hard for people.
@Wraikey3 жыл бұрын
@@OskarBlomkvist Apple is making it unnecessary hard thats true. The find X is much more complex than a traditional iPhone. I mean, the camera alone is much more complex than the iphone in a whole. But there is a difference between those 2. If you are skilled you can get the find X to new condition again. You cant do that with an Iphone cause Apple tries to get you out of their phone. Every little bs is paired to the phone. Therefor if you diy repair your new iphone you will lose half of the features (not that there are many in the first place)
@OskarBlomkvist3 жыл бұрын
@@Wraikey I don’t agree. The most common repairs you will do on phones are screen and battery, both of those repairs are really easy to do on iPhones. On most Android phones you don’t get pulltabs for the battery and screen repairs require full disassembly.
@Wraikey3 жыл бұрын
@@OskarBlomkvist Screen repair makes you lose true tone, battery repair makes you get an error for you battery health even if it's authentic (like from another iphone). Both repairs dont affect your usage of the phone on an android.

Three things: The screen you purchased is very likely genuine part, since these require more than a simple factory line to make. Hence the price. 2. Using decent liquid adhesive is always the better option, unless you have access to proper vulcanizing machine and decent quality adhesive. This tape you use is rather strong if it has enough area to stick to, but in phones, usually you don't. 3. It's a novel device, hence it's kind of strange.

My opposition to the "hidden front camera" is its a moving part which is possible failing point. Yea it's nice not having the notch or pinhole, but... gonna suck if the motor happens to fail after a year...
@ralune92163 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, it's a huge possible failing point, not to mention that this phone is also fragile. Oppo Find X was my daily driver and I still use it every now and then, while mine works just fine until now, using it feels like you're holding a piece of glass.

Yay to next fully working phone! You could do a price summup on the end, like how much it costed you to repair it. It would also be an indication of how repairable it is, because some devices are more costly to repair than to buy new. Also are you maybe planning on trying consoles?

"there's no excuse for a notch or a hole punch camera" Literally 30 seconds earlier you talk about the phone not being water resistant, which is due to not having a template adhesive, which is due to the motorized camera. So... There's the excuse. I'd rather have a hole punch and proper seal.
