A lot of people don't get Brand New. But if you do, you do forever. That video had to tear at everyone's heart.

"Uh, we've been a band for a long time, and like, after 15 years I can't really say that there aren't a lot of mistakes that we've made... and things we'd like to change maybe, but looking back it's hard to be unhappy about anything because being in this band has been such a unique experience and it's taken to where... just being in this room... and playing every night in front of a crowd that really loves us from the front to the back... So I guess for starters, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being here tonight. Um, I think the second thing I'd like to say is kinda what Andy said before is that, not only do we have a relationship that we really value with our audience, but the bands that we get to travel with and have gotten to know and love as brothers are invaluable to us and what we do... Um, third I'd would like to say thank you to... our band is in no way four people, it's usually like thirteen people and the other people you don't get to see, and all the lights and the video, and the sound gear... the only reason why I come out to you every night is because of them. And lastly, I'd like to say, being in a room like this is really special, personally I don't feel adequate or worth it, but I know that Garrett and Vinnie and Brian are absolutely worth it, and... uh.... (tearful)... and uh, without the three of them I would have never gotten to do any of this... I really appreciate it... Um, *ahem* this is the last show we're playing this year and it will be the last show for a while, and uh, there's gonna be a lot of things different when we come back, I'm gonna have a new daughter.... and um, we'll hopefully have a record to play for you. Anyway, I want to tell you here right now that this isn't gonna last much longer, but it's been so special for so long, and for as long as it does last, we're so grateful to all you being here. Thanks so much."

Wild going through all these videos seeing the ice cores of fans reverence for Jesse, which has now has completely turned to resentment. I don't know what kind of a person it makes me, but I still throw on their records all the time. I hate the fact that there's a tiny tinge of guilt that courses through me every time. I hate the fact that the band I would so pridefully show everyone I knew has become something to be ashamed of. However, I truly believe that Jesse transcended what he was and made reparation with himself the best he could by having a loving wife and family. Unfortunately what was left in its wake was not repairable. All I want is to be able to see them again and to feel the pride I once felt.

That's all on you Sam. I love Brand New more than ever, I don't give one runny shit what some fucking moron says judging Jesse for things he did over 15 fucking years ago. How the fuck can you watch this video and not see that he's a sensitive, sad and plain ol GOOD all around human? Everyone makes mistakes. And you can't judge Jesse for his past unless you've also been a frontman of an amazing band at an early age and seen first hand what it's actually like to have dumb sluts and drugs thrown at you left and right. Don't let today's retarded ass narrative make you feel bad about what you relate to. No human is all good. Every single artist you support without exception has done at least one thing morally murky in their past and it's totally OKAY. We're all human, remember that

This band helped me through High School, when I was alone, Brand New was there to save the day. I can't thank the people in this band enough for creating the music that made solitude bareable. Funny thing is I found this band through a game called "One Chance". If I was on my death bed my only wish would be to hear "Luca" from the album Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me live (My favorite song of all songs). I wish the band the best of what life has to offer, and also those who support them.

tbh , I only know one song by this band , and I knew it from my favorite band The Maine, this speech made me tear , and I got a feeling they're such a genuine band. They're on my list of bands I wanna listen to all of their albums.

The Maine is my favorite band, too! And Brand New is probably my 3rd. In fact, I've listened to every single Brand New song that exists just today. But, what I wanna know is, how did The Maine help you find Brand New?

Nick Perez maybe I'm reading too far in but at times I winder if that factors into the way he talks about himself. How he feels like he doesn't deserve to be there. His lyrics certainly seem highly tied in with his bad habits and character flaws. It's vastly interesting and ultimately. saddening.

+Errorztx I found out about Brand New the exact same way, I fell in love with their song in One Chance during the part where the man found his wife in the bathtub, and I just had to find out where the song was from. The rest is history. Throughout high school I got all of their albums and listened to them all the time, and like you, their music "made solitude bearable." It's awesome to know that Brand New means the same to someone other than me.
