Flick of the Switch and Powerage are the AC/DC I listen to most nowadays.

Flick of the Switch is the hardest sounding album in my opinion. And Brian"s vocals are pushed to the limit. I think its an awesome album. I like all the songs. Very underrated.

Plus, you gotta remember about the TIMING this album came out ...By that then time? RATT, CRUE, DOKKEN, ALL the whole 80s ROCK/METAL "LOOK" HAD, REALLY taken OFF, WITH? The whole VISUAL aspect that LOTTA the LA scene HAD brought, WAS CONTINUING to bring in , and so forth...ACDC however, were the guys that STILL came on stage with jeans and T-shirts, with the funny little dude in schoolboy's outfit justa JAMMIN on THAT Gibson GEE-TARR....😎🤘🔥🤘

Thanks, Ralph, for all the props and support. I really appreciate it. Love this video and, of course, I love FOTS. We definitely agree on that album's awesomeness. Looking forward to discussing FOTW and BUYV this evening...!!!

Totally agree the title track should have opened the album - stellar track. The album is great in an understated way. In regards to Rising Power... that's great example of the dynamic of Phil and Mal. It would have been interesting to hear Mutt Langs production of that album and the results had he been involved.

This was the first AC/DC record I bought(through Colombia House) and it was my favorite out of the 12 that I got for $1.89(Colombia Houses S&H charges). That was a great time for Rock n Roll!

Fly on the Wall is one of my favorites. Shake your Foundations is my favorite song on the record. Landslide is probably the best song on the Flick of the Switch album. Brainshake is awesome too.

Fly on the Wall is the first AC/DC album I didn't like. I bought it as soon as it arrived locally. I played it several times, hoping to find a groove that would pull me in, but it just never happened. There are two or three tracks I like, but that's it. Now, Flick of the Switch is such a killer album. I think it is an underrated gem. No, it's not as good as Back in Black. But it doesn't have to be. I bought Flick as soon as it came out. I still play it quite a lot. Those first three Brian albums just rock! Another amazing review, Ralph.

I Love Fly on the Wall, But Flick of the switch is their heaviest Album. Real AC/DC Fans Like Both. ive done a Review for Fly on the wall & other ones BUT just haven't for Flick.

I like it...I think it's one of their best underrated albums of the 80s, (with Brian Johnson)...And I personally "think" that Fly on the Wall wasn't too bad, some of those songs are kewl. And yes, Blow Up your Video IMO, IS ACDC' LAST decent "album".....I became DONE liking ACDC by The Razors Edge as I CANNOT stand the whole commercial one dimensional REALLY dumbed down version of the band's music... But yeah, that's just me, lol.... What is this other video you are referring to BTW with the ACDC guy/critic? ROCK ON 😎🤘🔥🤘

Also, FLICK is like their "Night in the Ruts." Raw, incredible, heavy album with great songs, yet insanely under-rated by fans & critics.

Flick is the end of the streak, end of the classic era.

Brian is unchained on this record really kicking ass all the way through. Wish they would have played the songs past the initial tour, Guns and Flick made it to '85 but dropped right before the Fly tour. Damn shame.

Playing With Girls is the only song I like from Fly On The Wall. Guns For Hire and This House Is On Fire are my favorite songs from Flick Of The Switch.

I agree Flick of the Switch song has one of the best guitar riffs ever. And Brian pushes his vocals on that one.

I still have the album from 83 and it’s great. Here’s why I think it was kind of overlooked: The explosion of many other bands at the time like Def Leppard, Motley, Quiet Riot, Twisted, Maiden, etc. That’s what was grabbing my 14 yr old attention span
@youtoo22335 ай бұрын
So true, and another Acdc album to most people was just like whatever
@journeyintothebible5 ай бұрын
Fly on the Wall sounds like a demo compared to Back In Black and Highway to Hell. Flick is not badly produced. It's similar to Powerage, not nearly as good though. Guns should've opened the album.
@sinnernik5 ай бұрын
I remember hearing this years ago here in Australia that there was a mistake with the pressing of the album. It was said that they got side A and B the wrong way around. Guns for hire was supposed to be the opening track then deep in the hole etc etc. that story always made sense to me.
@christophermiller51455 ай бұрын

😆 Lol.... STILL!,,, I am having like VERY vivid memories of our neighbors across the street in the early mid 80s, you can say that the parents who lived there had a pretty rowdy pair of young adult "MEN" that were ALWAYS working on loud obnoxious cars, and loud blaring ROCK/ METAL music, lol...Well, I had become friends with the oldest boy of 28 y.o. then, I was like 12-13 y.o. Dave (his name) came tearing into the house one summer day, as he was physically TOWING this old junk Ranchero he had in their front yard...He had this 79 Jeep CJ5 4x4 with this really souped UP 302 motor in it (outta one of Dave's other prized GT Mustangs) and it's pull front wheels off the ground ya know lol... ANYWAYS! He's hooking up the whole towing debacle and he's got his JEEP'S fancy stereo with a COUPLE PAIR OF 6X9s PLUS a pair of home stereo speakers that he kept in the back seat, and he HAD that DEEP IN THE HOLE song JUSTA BLASTING OUT of THAT STEREO SYSTEM!!! 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊 "DEEP IN..DEEP IN DEEP IN DA HO... I'm DOWN IN Down IN...DOWN IN DA HOLE 🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️. LOL 😆 STILL CAN RECALL HOW RAW/INTENSE BRIAN JOHNSON'S VOCALS WERE and of course, the REST OF THE BAND JUST ,,, SOLID! ON the 4 on the floor timing and beat..... 👍 Yep.. GOOD ol fashioned HARD HITTIN ROCK n ROLL with one of the"LOUDEST BANDS IN CONCERT" BACK THEN, NO doubt 😎🤘🔥🤘

I like those latter "lyrics by Brian Johnson" albums, but i sure disagree with what tracks: Flick; Deep in the Hole, Bedlam in Belgium, Badlands / Fly; Sink the Pink, Shake Your Foundations, Danger (I can't stand Prince, so I certainly don't hear a pseudo-prince) / Video; Kissin' Dynomite, Two's Up, Heatseaker
@joeylyons45495 ай бұрын
My favorite Brian Johnson era album. Probably not a popular choice with many. But it is what it is. Just one hard raw sounding record with great songs. They sunk like a brick after this one.

@jtshark58175 ай бұрын
I know my fellow ACDC fans will hate this. But Flick and Fly on the wall are my two most hated CDs or albums if you like. I think part of the problem is at least with flick, Johnson voice was somewhat shot after two massive world tours. And if you look at their live play list? Songs from both CDs have been rarely played. Even when they were on your for the album, they played two or three a night and that was it. By 1990 they dropped all songs from those albums and that says a lot

For me, the last GREAT AC/DC album. It's a raw, heavy, no nonsense record, and far superior to "Fly."

Well, I LOVE Flick of The Switch. Great album. AND ...I love the "Album Cover" -- as it is! This "colorized" version looks like garbage! 🗑️ Flat out garbage! Flick of The Switch is a GRAY and WHITE affair! And the original LP's center label reflected that as well! And that looked badass too! Just as Back in Black featured a black and silver center, and For Those About To Rock gave us a gold and black!! So don't screw with it! So whichever smartass decided to add this jackass color to an already excellent LP cover...is mentally challenged to say the least. Might seem harsh to say, but, look, only real fans know this. M ⚡
