The late 70s, AC/DC with Bon Scott up front, as good as it gets. Takes me back to the wild nights in the local pub where I lived, where the beer flowed and rock bands would play live in the marijuana haze of the crowded bar, with motorbikes all lined up outside. A couple of times I zonked out at the end and woke up there in the morning for the freezing cold ride home. The stuff we used to put ourselves through.
@polishkabash475111 ай бұрын
My favorite slow song by AC/DC is “Ride On” which has a strong blues vibe. Same album also has “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” which is a bit slower song that still rocks IMO! Saw them in Mpls in the nineties; been to a lot of concerts and that one, to this day, stands out as the Best of All Time! Entertaining, high energy and they sounded great. Angus Young was unforgettable! 🎸🤘
@justinneill50039 ай бұрын
Great to see the younger generation discover the sounds of my generation. My nomination for AC/DC reaction video… “WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE!” And of course, with Bon Scott on vocals. The AC/DC I grew up with was with Bon Scott as the front man. He was Scottish (he even plays bagpipes when they perform “Long Way To The Top” through the streets on top of a truck, check that out too.) He met up with the Youngs after he moved to Australia and the rest is history. Brian was the best replacement they could have hoped for after Bon died, and he has done a great job, but even he admits that there is, and will only ever be, one Bon Scott. One thing, this is not sanitised modern dance music, it is about raw energy. It does not call for choreography, you have to clear away the furniture, put away any breakable stuff, crank up the volume and just totally let go.

If you want to hear some things that add a lot of colour to this era of AC/DC - the Valentines "Build me Up Buttercup" (which was a totally different style of music bubblegum pop with Bon Scott in the band), The Easybeats "Friday on My Mind" which has Harry Vanda and George Young playing guitar doing incredibly complicated but simple sounding chord progressions - they went on to be big writer/producers and produced the first 5 or 6 AC/DC albums and George's younger brothers are Malcolm & Angus and lastly Evie parts 1,2,3 by Stevie Wright which was written by Vanda & Young and Malcolm played lead guitar on the studio version but the live version is insanely good prime 70's Rock that takes you on a journey.

This was an early AC/DC song from 1977 - the band's 4th record (also called 'Let there be rock')... Bon Scott was on vocals in this 1978 performance... and sadly, he passed away in 1980 after asphyxiating on his vomit after passing out from heavy drinking. Bon Scott's contribution to AC/DC was nothing short of invaluable... he had this voice and delivery that was gritty and powerful, and that inspired brothers Angus and Malcolm Young to crank up the volume and sleaze in AC/DC, after getting an early start w/ their first singer Dave Evans in their club/ bar days in Australia. AC/DC would have been a very different band without Bon Scott 🤘🤘

So you asked for a slow song by AC/DC. Check out "Ride On" official audio version. It's difficult to find a live version with good enough quality. "Ride On" is a different side of AC/DC. It's more of a slow, bluesy song that I absolutely love. RIP, Bon Scott. Angus Young has a great solo in this one that just fits perfectly. Also, If/When you decide to do another Iron Maiden reaction, check out "Dance of Death" En Vivo! Epic live performance, one of the best from Maiden! :)

The lead singer , Bon Scot , died in Feb. 1980...... less than 2 years after this performance. Most of the available videos , records and CD’s are of his replacement singer, Brian Johnston..... who is still singing with the band if they are still performing. lol Bon had told the band to hire Brian if anything should happen to him...... when he died, the band members forgot all about that. When they were almost ready to give up on finding a suitable replacement, someone mentioned or suggested Brian...... only then did they remember Bons earlier request. Excuse me if I am wrong, but I think you might be confusing more recent videos of Brian with the older videos of Bon ?
