Up the Irons. I am a fan since the 1980s. First experience: "Live after death". Best story-telling Metal band in the world, living _legends_ . My recommendations: Also have a look on "Lovebites" (from Japan) and "Nemophila" (from Japan). They learned from "Eddie and the boyz" and now pass on to the world.

I love En Vivo, but the best live version is Rio 2001, hands down. That one IS the gold standard for this song!

IRON MAIDEN:LIVE AFTER DEATH 1985-LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA: I saw them in Long Beach California where I lived at the time I’m in Santa Monica now but they played 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday and I was there all four nights in 1985. They filmed 🎥 the shows for what became the Live After Death cd/dvd! My favorite Bruce Dickinson moment: SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH ARENA!!! I live in Playa del Carmen, Mexico which is near Cancun but I sometimes go to concerts in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. This time I was in Fort Lauderdale for Iron Maidens concert and they play this song. The guy next to me was crying at the end of the song. He told me it was his first time in Maiden concert and that he basically waited 20 years to be there at that moment. I had to give him a guys hug. The performance that day was phenomenal

I saw Bruce and the fellas last February, 2023 in San Diego... They were superlative. I missed them in the 80s, oddly enough. Live, Bruce is just like Rob Halford -- crazy good! I like to listen to their yoga hits instrumentals. Ever seen/heard Tommy Johansson, Phantom of the Opera?

Up the Irons. Thank you for reacting to "Eddie and the boyz". Living _legends_ . I am eager to mention two other _amazing_ Metal bands: *Lovebites* (from Japan), and *Nemophila* (from Japan). Whoever is fond of Iron Maiden: Please do yourself the favour and have a look on both bands. They learned from the best (also "Maiden"), got their Metal degrees, and now pass on to the world. They are _worth_ a try. Lovebites wrote _many_ Metal masterpieces, Nemophila _only_ masterpieces up to now. My daily playlists consists of Iron Maiden, Helloween, Lovebites and Nemophila. I do not wish for more anymore. Stay positive, stay tuned!

Of course ABSOLUTE darkness is scary! It’s inherent thing, universal, of course with different degrees and shapes. But now most of us live often in a relatively safe, expected, luminous, and visible environments! But Maiden songs are mostly figurative and metaphorical, but sometimes it’s more literal, it’s both actually, generally about existential experiences and pains of life! here it’s about fear of the dark, but also fear of the unknown (darkness), and mostly you are alone when “you walk the dark road”!! They are inspired mainly by history, novels, mythologies, movie, personal things, etc. Steve Harris is the founder, main songwriter and composer and the bassist of the band. Iron Maiden is very well balanced musicians with all these strong numerous melodies, strong numerous emotions, beauty, power, vigor, energy, transitions, moderate heaviness, drama, versatility and dynamics all together at least mostly! Which is rare in general! Btw. I suggest some songs for you to react to later (i hope as soon as possible 😜) and of course live or studio, maiden is great in both +\-: - Rime of the ancient mariner - Powerslave - Ghost of the navigator - Phantom of the opera - The loneliness of the long distance runner - Caught somewhere in time - The clansman - the sign of the cross - Afraid to shoot strangers - Infinite dreams - Blood brothers - Alexander the great - Remember tomorrow - Seventh son of a seventh son - Purgatory - Strange world - If eternity should fail - the red and the black - revelations - ……..

Iron Maiden was built on British rock and progressive rock influences that made them unique in many ways... 'Fear of the dark' was one of Steve Harris (bass) typical compositions where time changes and guitar harmonies are prevalent... The reason Steve Harris formed Iron Maiden in 1975 was because he was writing songs that other bands he had played in found complicated to play... With Iron Maiden, he could assume the role of band leader and hire musicians who could bring his original songs to life. Harris loved British rock bands like Thin Lizzy, U.F.O, Bad Company... but he also loved the technical music of progressive bands like Yes... Genesis ... King Crimson... and that was what inspired him to write those early Maiden songs like - 'Phantom of the Opera' ... 'Remember tomorrow' ... 'Innocent exile'... 'Wrathchild'... etc. Iron Maiden in their early days had a raw delivery unlike the one u see live today... It was Steve Harris and Dave Murray (guitar) who were the nucleus of the band... Paul Di'Anno (vocals) gave Maiden a punk rock edge... numerous players came and went before Iron Maiden recorded their debut album in 1980 w/ Clive Burr (drums) and Dennis Stratton (guitar) in the band... Adrian Smith (guitar) joined in late '80 and became a key songwriter in the band. Bruce Dickinson (vocals) joined in 1982 and transformed Iron Maiden into a streamlined heavy metal band w/ his high vocal range... and then Nicko McBrain (drums) joined in 1983 and Iron Maiden was truly a musical force in the 80's and beyond... 'Fear of the dark' was released in 1992 w/ Janick Gers (guitar) replacing Adrian Smith (who would return to Iron Maiden in 1999 w/ 3 guitarists)... When Blaze Bayley (vocals) replaced Bruce Dickinson from 1994 to 1998, Maiden's sound changed and Blaze's vocals did not meet the fans' expectations cos it sounded so different... Thankfully, Bruce Dickinson rejoined in 1999 and Iron Maiden could grow musically once again.

Yeah I fucking love iron maiden I mean how can you not if you don’t then you have no fucking soul because they are one of the greatest bands ever. Also there’s a lot of other great bands too that you really need to get too. Honestly I think you should check out a band that I have been listening to nonstop this was a heavy metal band that came out in the 80s and they’re pretty fucking underrated and they really know how to write really cool bangers. This band is called metal church and I think you should start off by reacting to the first track on their debut album metal Church from 1984 beyond the Black what a great song opener and what a great fucking heavy metal banger. Please just do me a favor and check it out you will not be disappointed and then check out their self titled song metal Church. And all and all I think you should really check out their debut album there is not one bad song on that album it is just a flawless album.
