Toward the end days of the height of AC/DC...Bon was sussing out a possible replacement for AC/DC ( Brian Johnston.which he became friends with)the rocking roll life that he was aiming for wasn't all what he had it to be all cracked out to be....he missed the life on the Western farm.....and was looking for a return to it while keeping AC/DC going at their height....but as we all know he didn't get there...the wild country boy was calling back home....but city life & fame ways took him! RIP Bon.❤

i was there in 78 when this was recorded showing my age now the best live band i have ever seen i have seen them a few times over the years both with bon and brian , brian is good but bon will always be my fav . great band what you pay for is what you get pure rock n roll it has never changed over the years . i once heard angus in an interview saying someone said or last album sounded like the one before infact we have 12 albums and they all sound the same , that made me laugh .

I worked as a security stage supervisor at their 1995 concert in Frankfurt. Well.......I had the HUGE luck, that they invited the stage security for some backstage beer after the concert. All of them were/are so polite, completely down to earth and humble. I will never forget this in my whole life!

To build anything that's going to stand the test of time you need solid foundations - Angus sounds so good because he has something to play off. Ever humble he was always at pains to point out that ACDC was an ensemble, not just him. He said of his brother Malcom that his commitment to the rythm guitar was inspirational, that anybody could do what he (Angus) does but to hold the structure together was difficult & took talent & skill, you need people committed to it so he could go out & add flash & flair.

I was in a band back then and we were about to go on stage when our bassist came into the dressing room and told us Bon had died. We nearly cancelled the gig because we had to talk him down. We went on and played, but it was a sad night.

If you want to hear them pay homage to their Scottish roots , you must listen to the song that they began with, the song that launched them into the stratosphere....."It's a Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock and Roll ". Bon Scott plays the freakin bagpipes,along with with a full set of pipers. Yep, bagpipes, and they Rock them. Angus lets loose with some guitar stuff that rivals Chuck Berry. He always said , " it ain't Rock and Roll without a little swing to it". Angus demonstrates that "swing" perfectly in his performance. 👌

Angus and Malcolm were Glasgow born and Bon was born in Forfar but lived in Kirriemuir which was also the birthplace of JM Barrie who wrote Peter Pan, On a side note the Young's older brother George who produced their early albums was also a pop star in the sixties with a major hit with a band named the Easybeats (Friday On My Mind)

The Apollo in Glasgow used to be called Greens Playhouse.. And on that stage in the 70's & 80's I saw..... Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jethro Tull, The Steve Miller Band, Men at Work, Roy Harper, Deep Purple and many, many more... It was a 3,000 seater and the best environment to see a band in... Keep on Rocking.

I am one of those, "I saw AC DC, with Bon Scott, 6/29/79 Denver CO". For me, the greatest concert I ever saw, and I've seen some great bands in my time. And since you both enjoyed this clip, you should watch the whole movie "Let There Be Rock". I believe it was released in 1979 or 80. Great recording. Thanks for sharing. AC/DC did a few gigs in preparation for their first European tour and did a bunch of lunch time gigs, one being at my secondary school, Altona North High School, in 1975 (I think). It was a fantastic hour long show and the principle had to kick us all out of the auditorium at the end. Brilliant show and fantastic memories. The band was incredible and Bonn was the man. He commanded the room like he absolutely owned it.

Angus young is a legend! been a massive fan of ACDC since i was a early teenager, im only 30 years old, so i didnt get to see them at the peak with most the orginal line up, but i did see them at the etihad stadium in manchester (UK) in 2016, brain joshson had hearing problems and going deaf so he couldnt sing, axel rose filled in, was a shame but still a really good night.

Saw AC/DC 7 months after this concert (the ticket was £1.80 for an upper circle seat) and again, but centre stalls up against the barrier, at what would be Bon's last with the band in Jan 1980. No one could touch them back then. Bon, like Angus and Malcolm, was born in Scotland and his family moved to Melbourne when he was 6 years old. RIP Bon, Malcolm, George

It was a bit of a dump, eventually being pulled down. But just about every major act you could think of from the mid sixties through the seventies and eighties played there.

Cranhill in Glasgow's east end to be exact, i was from Shettleston in the east end and my bedroom window looked directly at Cranhill which was next to the big hoose as we call it in Glasgow, the big hoose is Barlinnie prison, Scotland toughest prison hence the name the big hoose. Cranhill i have to say was a dump back in those days and it's no wonder their parents moved to Aussieland.

One of my best memories of seeing them in concert, a friend of mine, he was about 6'2, 230 lbs, would stand on the seats and throw all his weight on the seats and collapse them whenever the cannons went off,,never seen anything like that since!!!!

ACDC's name comes from Singer Sewing Machine. The Young brothers' sister had a sewing machine, with a metal electrical tag on the side that had AC/DC power info. The schoolboy outfit came after a year of dressing in drag, a pirate costume and even a full gorilla suit. The shorts, tie and hat was a hit, and they kept it.

Bon Scott, Angus, and Malcolm (and the bassist, Cliff Williams) were all born in Scotland. Phil Rudd is the only member who is a born Aussie. Bon Scott is the 2nd singer, Brian Johnson is the 3rd singer for ACDC. Their first singer in 1973 was Dave Evans.

Angus & Malcolm's older brother George was in a band called The Easybeats. They enjoyed some success in Australia first, then in the UK & Europe. George would bring home guitars for his younger brothers, & they spent countless hours practicing. The older brothers would play young Angus a song on the radio or record & say "play that." As always guys, great reaction. The tapping technique began to be taken up by rock and blues guitarists in the late 1960s. Canned Heat guitarist Harvey Mandel, whom Ritchie Blackmore claims to have seen using tapping onstage as early as 1968 at the Whisky a Go Go.

AC/DC at their absolute peak there wasn't a rock & roll band they couldn't blow off the stage when every other band has finished AC/DC was just getting started.. I seen them for the 1st time circa 1975 with maybe 200/300 people tops in a country town Albury Australia.

I was at this concert, it was immense. Both Angus and Malcolm were born in Glasgow, Scotland Bon was born in Kirriemuir, Scotland.
