perm magnet motors with fixed frequency signal to the stator coil are called syncronous motor. important part of the construction of such motor is having a flywheel on the motor axis
@alchemy15 жыл бұрын
I am very surprised you made no remarks about direction of rotation. But the question is why? As a water pump, perhaps it is designed in such a way that no matter which way the rotor moved, the water would flow in the intended direction I would think so they kept this motor simple instead.

primero que nada deja te felicito por un canal tan grandioso y lleno de knowledge yo mirava tu canal en Espanol, so let me continue here in English, i do have a question, for the magnets you used you are using two of them right AND also are you positioning them in a way that south, north pointing outwards or are they north, north pointing outwards or south, south-pointing outwards and final question can i put 120v to one of those pump motors i have one just like that one thank you

Nice can you controll speed wiht signals
@justgotravel66466 жыл бұрын
What if you spin the magnets with a motor same speed would you create same current on the coil?
@swansizzle4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucid Science, what is your power supply to get the magnet spinning? I tried to replicate with an adjustable DC power supply and it didn't work. Any thoughts?
@ludicscience4 жыл бұрын
it is connected to the wall socket

Nice video. Do you know how the device in the washing machine always rotates in the same sense (CW or CCW)?
@ludicscience7 жыл бұрын
That´s a good question, I don´t know, maybe some kind of assimetry in the magnert
@82rah7 жыл бұрын
Thanks; I thought perhaps the magnet in the impeller was not symmetric in the electromagnet, but could not make this out in video.
@bobs12andahalf27 жыл бұрын
Does it have to spin in a certain direction? The impeller on the pump appears to have straight vanes, which might suggest that it's designed to work in either direction.
@82rah7 жыл бұрын
Good point. I bet that's the correct explanation of why the sense of spin is not important.
@Cheese_13377 жыл бұрын
No, it can spin in either directions.

Place the magnet between the iron core, maybe it will turn faster and stronger, nice experiment.
@pavanpratapsinghchauhan68047 жыл бұрын
it will stick to iron and will produce a buzzing sound
@jarno40547 жыл бұрын
If you secure it well enough than it won't stuck to the iron. But that is something that will cause trouble.
@Cheese_13377 жыл бұрын
It won't spin faster, as it's synchronized with ac frequency.
@zox0127 жыл бұрын
just to add a interesting fact to this demo this motor wont always spin in same direction since its a water pump this is desirable to be like this since if something gets stuck the pump stops and tries to rotate in another direction possibly removing the thing that got it stuck hope this was interesting fact great demo :)

How do you know (or change) the direction it is going to rotate? clockwise or counterclockwise?
@theterribleanimator17937 жыл бұрын
change polarities if dc, if not you have to force the rotation with your hand brfore powering the motor.

Sir, could you maybe explain how a 2 phase motor works that is called the tesla 2 phase motor and has green and red coils. I cant wrap my head around how it works and how the magnetic field react because the coils are wound on an iron ring so are parallel to the rotor. Your motor I understand because your coils are in line with the rotor/facing towards the rotor. Could you maybe replicate a motor similar to the One I talked about. I am a big fan and love your video's, thanks for sharing :)

How i can calculate max voltage that coil don't burn up?
@igrewold7 жыл бұрын
Good question, I once had a solid wire(from phone cable, the inside wall one) wrapped around a toroid and wanted to make a tansformer then it just burned! ;D Resistance was like 1 ohm or something, dunno why.
@ludicscience7 жыл бұрын
You need to apply the voltage that will allow for the max current your wire can handle. You need to take into account resistance of the coil and also the reactances.
