After a storm last wk and the power flickered, the unit no longer cools. When I turn the unit back on at the switch, should the thermometer be on or off to let the unit reset itself for 15 minutes?

The compressor of the condenser unit tries to start, then quickly fails to continue. I have already changed to a new capacitor, and still does not work. could there be a problem with the compressor being stuck ?

Silicon Valley engineer I thought u might be able to help me. I just want to fix my AC RIGHT NOW . AC was working until I tried to fix the heater . I might have shorted something in the air handler . What happend I used a paper clip to bypass the thermosthat . To see if the heater will start( nothing) I stop from there but now the AC. Won’t turn on as well. Is there a fuse in the air handler that might have blown? Condenser won’t run as well ( the outside)

Silicon Valley engineer I did just that reset the black button and removed the batteries for a minute. Still the AC won’t turn on. Any idea what to check? Note the AC was working , I tried to fix heater that won’t turn on . I used a piece of wire on the controller to see if maybe the heater will start if I use a wire no start ( heater) now both the AC AND HEATER WONT TURN ON. I might have shorted something when I used a jumper wire?

My AC was working fine yesterday and then just stopped last night. We tried the switch outside, it worked for 5 mins. So I know it's not the fuse. But we did have the annual maintenance this week and everything seemed to work fine. And then yesterday, this happened. I will check the fuse box anyway.

I wouldn't trust the guy who did your annual maintenance if you are now having problems. Could be a mistake by him or worse.

I do have a question I got my AC installed last year and now it won’t turn on and it does not have a filter slot , I was wondering if it’s suppose to have a filter and where would it be? When I turn on my AC it turns on and air comes out but it’s not cold enough to make my house a decent temp. And I checked out side the AC unit was not running so I assumed that was the fan

Same issue fixed by changing one of the fuses in the disconnect box. It happened last year too. I changed it both times and both times the AC came back on. I don't know why the fuses are blowing though. Other video comment says it could be overheated (it's over 100 this week) or a power surge. I hope it is one of those and not a short in the compressor.

My Thermostat has been glitching so I replaced it, and it looks to be working but my AC has not kicked on.I checked my breaker box and it was fine but when I went to check the disconnect switch is off, but it will not stay in the “on” position when i flip the switch. How can i fix this.

I was to call a repair man cause just knew my unit was supposed to click on💁💁💁 when he said to make sure the temp on thermostat waa lower than in the house and I realized I was raising mines😂😂
