Overall it is just a lot of question practice. The tricky areas such as accruals try to use a timeline to help understand how it works. Depreciation can also be quite a nice question if you understand the two different methods. In terms of the long form again it is just practice. Do not mentally put yourself off one type and pray it doesn't come up (usually the cash flow). The cash flow is actually quite logical if you spend time learning how it works. I would definitely recommend trying the two sample assessments for accounting accessible here: www.icaew.com/for-current-aca-students/exam-resources/certificate-level/accounting-module-study-resources as you can actually try out the full exam on the software. This is particularly helpful for the long form. Definitely do just throw yourself into question practice but with accounting do keep recapping and going back to the notes to really make sure you understand it. Good luck!

where do u find the notes? im doing it with aca masters (certificate level) and they have videos, a) how do i know im covering everything for the accounting module and b) where can i find exam practice?

I studied with Kaplan who were able to provide notes. I am not sure if ACA Masters offer notes as well for Certificate Level. If you are registered with ICAEW you should hopefully be able to access the Study Manual, which will let you know whether you are covering everything. This does go into a lot of detail but you can also access the ICAEW syllabus for Certificate Level here: www.icaew.com/-/media/corporate/files/learning-and-development/aca-syllabus/2022-aca-syllabus-handbook-certificate.ashx?la=en Question practice is also through the ICAEW Question Bank. Unfortunately I am not too sure on this one. It is best to check the ICAEW website as there is a lot of information on there. It is also worth reaching out to others who have been able to achieve this and ask for help/guidance. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful on this!

yes, there are many different routes to the ACA qualification. You could apply as a school leave for example

I would recommend doing as much question bank practice as possible for MI. Learning the content alone is not enough - my real exam I found tricky even after practicing all of the QB. I would recommend making sure you really understand the content such as contribution cost, breakeven point, etc as they may really rearrange formulae and really test your understanding in these questions. Definitely practice the scenario based aspect too as there are a few different types you need to wrap your head around and it can take a little while. Good luck!
