Academic Flats at Fort Sill, Oklahoma (Full Walkthrough) | Going Grays

A video from 2020 of the Academy Flats apartments at Fort Sill, OK. These buildings house four units, two lower and two upper. There is a third floor that is shared by the upper and lower unit on each side, but they each have lockable areas. This will be the same for the basement with a shared laundry area and a lockable storage room.
Sorry the video is filmed vertically. This was originally sent as a video to someone else and I thought I should share it because there are so few videos truly showing these buildings.

Thanks for sharing! There are next to no videos/pics of these houses. We'll be headed back to Sill soon for WOBC and I was worried these were going to be small. I didn't realize they came with so many extra storage areas. Were you able to fit a king sized bed, by chance? That's the only thing I'm worried about not fitting.

Yes we had a king-size bed in the larger bedroom. It did not leave much room, but it fit. The closets are very small. That was the biggest problem. We installed rods in the third floor storage and put all our clothes there. Also, the basements tend to flood, but you can ask housing to bring pallets to keep your things off the floor. Thank you so much for posting this video, I have a question is this a two bedroom and is it big enough for a family of 3 my husband and I and our 21 year old son I am worry is small for adults family. is this more of a home for a couple and a younger kid.

Hello! This is a 3-bedroom. I believe all of the apartments on this street are identical in size. In the hallway, a bedroom is across from the bathroom. Next to this bedroom is a 2nd bedroom. Across the hall from the 2nd bedroom is the master bedroom. We have a highschool age daughter that lived with us in this apartment. Lots of floor space, closets are small, only one bathroom is challenging. Thanks for watching!

How was the yard situation? We have two large dogs and got offered this apartment. Is the side yard shared? Did it come fenced in or did you have to rent? If you have to rent a fence could it go off the front door or did it have to be the side yard? Thats my main concern is how to get my dogs out to go potty during the day/night

The side yard may be fenced if it was left by a previous tenant. Otherwise you have to pay to fence it. There is no direct access to the fenced part of the yard from the building. You must exit the back door to the alley and then walk down to the gate to the yard. We had a Great Dane and it was not ideal. He was mostly leased outside or under close supervision if he was unleashed. We never took him into the fenced area. We would use the front yard and immediately clean it up. I would not accept this housing again if we had dogs.

Fortunately we only lived there for 8 months. Now we are in El Paso, TX. I originally made this video to show my parents the new place we had moved. Then I realized there aren't many videos at all for these old homes on Fort Sill so I decided to post it for those moving in the future. 👍
