Thanks for the video. I find that the 3D Cut and Sew UV tool eliminates a lot of the need to do a bunch of individual projections. I just hit the model with a planar map to clear out the default UVs and then use the 3D Cut and Sew UV tool to mark my seams and create UV shells. Then I select all the shells and hit shift+D to unfold all of them in one shot. It puts all the shells at the same texel density and ensures that they are right side up exponentially. It has really sped up my UV workflow. It's a great tool. I've been a fan of your channel for a while now. You do great work. Your Arnold rendering videos really helped get me going with Arnold. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, I really appreciate all the tutorials. I find that very few people can actually teach or do tutorials effectively because in almost every case they start out with a simple concept and then immediately go way off the rails into other aspects, theory and detail that has nothing to do with the original intent of the tutorial, or in the example of UV'ing something, they start out with a really complex object. If you are going to teach something keep it simple. That's why I definitely think your tutorials achieve the goal of bringing people up to speed on Maya. I knew about most of this content in this tutorial but one thing I learned was how to transfer attributes and a few other little shortcuts.

This was overall easy to follow but I had issues with separating the cut I made in the leg, I could not select the UVs like you did so they objects did not separate. That was the only issue, great tutorial!!

In layout when you were resizing the stool parts why haven't use texel density option again to match when you change the object size?

In modeling in general, when is it the right time to delete history and freeze transformations?
@CoachTCG2 жыл бұрын
In my experience you want to delete history every time you are working on an object and the history can affect other processes within the modeling. I usually try to do it everytime I shift something around or am working on anything that might need to stay in a certain place. Before beveling, when beginning the UV maps, and when exporting to texture and making it a 3D object. Just my opinion.

Good afternoon. I don't understand why in the UV Toolkit, in the tools tab, the scale is specified exactly as 2,000 ?! Why not 1?! After all, as I understand it, this is an increase in sheels. If so, then after all, then the texel will be wrong on the model .... Or I don’t understand something at all. All in all, I'm confused. Explain, please)

I love the way you teach, But why they can't create another easy way to add texture to a 3d model. I Think the UV mapping is not a smart concept to deal with, Specially when you are artists not a tailor, They should come up with another easy faster way, But you are great, Thanks a lot.
