Very nice build. I also built this kit and had some issues with the decals. And also did not add enough weight to the nose, but ended up using Glue Dots for the landing gear to keep in on a base. Thanks for the video.

Yeah it needs so much weight in that nose its scary shows in the real one just how big the gun on this thing is

Cheers dude ,I was painting a few of the inside of the the pannels as I couldnt get the brush in there easily later,its called pre painting,just makes gerring a good finish easier,normally most planes need the cock pit and wheel wells painted as you building

@@scalestuff1066 the vid helped.this is my 1st build in more than a little while,so im not following the paint directions exactly as i had some difficulty locating some colors.overall the top will be raf navy gray,underside ocean grey.with the desert storm decals tiger mouth set up.after this im going to build the us navy prb tamiya kit.then the a1 douglas usaf skyraider,using spray can priming and hand brushing old school style with flat acrylics and gloss varnishes.thanx for the tip about adding weight to front of plane probably use some split shot and blue tack mix.
@scalestuff10666 ай бұрын
Nice I bet that will look good when its done mate, Ive just done a tamiya skyraider, its a lovely kit for the most part, velejho do a good vietnam 4 color set and it goes well over a fine rattle can white base coat. No worries, Ive just had to do that again with a italri Tomcat, not the greatest of builds, not even enough space for 10gram of split shot, most of its ended up around the seating area

Hey! Great job on your build. I am currently building this model myself... what glue do you use ?

I used I think humbrol liquid, if not It would be tamiya cement, the white bottle, Not the green ( the greens extra thin and i dont get on with it) best of luck with your build tho mate hope it all pans out in the end :)

@@scalestuff1066 my painting was shite and made it sort of hard to fit together well, paint was too thick. Definitely should have assembled it before painting I think I’m my case

Did you do a panel lining/pin wash between the paint and adding the decals? (and from there did you gloss coat it before?) I have this same build ready to go, just trying to get a feel what to do with it. (Love the paint job here)
@scalestuff10666 ай бұрын
Yes to the first part of the first one, but no gloss between this is just decals on paint job. Thanks mate and best of luck with your build, what scheme you going with?
@Kinglink6 ай бұрын
@@scalestuff1066 Not sure yet, was going to go with one in the instructions (There's a shaded design) but yours looks better, and does appear to be more authentic, I might try to follow what you've done just to learn that technique. My big goal on this build is the panel line and trying to keep the paint super thin to retain the detail.
@scalestuff10666 ай бұрын
@@Kinglink I think this is the temperate or euro scheme for them, I think there are models with this as there suggested, If you ever want a guide for a different scheme, go on scale mates and look at the instructions for other kits its where I sometimes go to try something different, its free you dont need to sign up as well

@@scalestuff1066 Btw, just wanted to thank you for the weight you used in your nose section. I definitely would have been light but I appreciate the weight you used so I could try to get it right. It feels wrong, so knowing it should be very heavy is very much appreciated.
@scalestuff10666 ай бұрын
@@Kinglink Glad to have been of help, and I know what you mean it feels freakishly heavy, its all the wings and jets at the back of the plane that need to be balanced out, in all fairness building the kit make me appreciate what a freak this aircraft really is, it really is just built around that gun in the nose. Also if you want a laugh google the gun for this plane out of the plane, the things huge

Not sure if youll answer but seeing recent comments, do i need cement? [the instructions say i need cement so im bot sure ;-;, or can i just use glue cause im struggling to even build the cockpit since well, im not using anything to connect the pieces [edit:] if I need glue or cement, what brand should I get?

You need cement mate, tamiya liquid polys a good brand, the white lid not the green, as thats extra thin and wont be great if your new to the hobby, humbrol do a clear liquid cement to mate
