even though i have read the many praises of the ALMIGHTY increating such a beautiful hymn. has anybody stopped to consider that he gave all people the power to sing if they would just open their mouth because the LORD says " i don't care how you sound because i don't listen to the voice singing io listen to the heart that powers the voice"

On a hill far away Stood an old rugged cross The emblem of suffering and shame And I love that old cross Where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain Chorus: So I'll cherish the old rugged cross Till my trophies at last I'll lay down I will cling to the old rugged cross And exchange it some day for a crown When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of glory died My richest gain I count but loss And pour contempt on all my pride O that old rugged cross So despised by the world Has a wondrous attraction for me For the dear Lamb of God left his glory far above To bear it to dark Calvary Repeat Chorus Dou graças mil a meu Jesus O amor provado sobre a cruz Irá suster e conduzir A minha vida no porvir To the old rugged cross I will ever be true Its shame and reproach gladly bear Then he's gonna call me some day To my home far away Where his glory forever I'll share Repeat Chorus When I survey the wondrous cross I'll exchange it someday for a crown

Thanks be to God He is not limited by our finite humanity! God WILL use anything to reach the lost. He led me back through a country music song. (God used a donkey to talk to a prophet !) Paul writes in 1st Timothy 1, Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.

@goodguymar God hears it all as a joyous noise. If it is described as joyous then it MUST be pleasing to Him. Think of it this way, the lyrics are the boat laden with the glorious message of God and His Precious Son Jesus Christ while the rhythm of the counter beat vocals is the water upon which it floats. Its all good, its all good. All of it is intended to Glorify God. After a really anointed sermon, I have heard parishioners also state, " I love Pastor Ted." So what if they do?

@sklaft Also, there are many verses in the Bible that encourage using instruments to praise the LORD. I would agree with your first statement, but I think that can be a good thing. Psalm 147:7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! Psalm 150:3-5 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

@sklaft // Amen, I agree with you 100% if this is being used in the worship assembly. This type of music is not what God requires from us as His children when they come together to worship Him. Eph 5:19 and Col 3:16. However, I do struggle with the question of, in our private worship/devotion/meditation, are we bound by the same requirements as in the public assembly on Sunday? If I chose to listen to this group in my personal/private meditation is it a sin?

can someone upload the southern gospel album particularly amazing grace?
@rougestar17 жыл бұрын
i love it omg omg
@Thehuskarl13 жыл бұрын
@mcasteel1996 First off I would agree that this isn't something to sing in public worship because it is performance oriented rather than the whole congregation singing. Second, how does making melody in our hearts instruct people either, it is only the private worship of God. Third, what do you think about intros? This song has an eight second intro, does God think it's useless even though it is musically pleasant?

@sklaft Are you saying that the harmonic and rhythmic parts are inherently bad because they aren't words? I think you are wrong, if they were singing the words along with the others it wouldn't add any more words to the music. We are already hearing the words. If they sang other words to try and fit more words into the song then it would sound bad. Also music can be a language of it's own. These sounds aren't words but they communicate joyfulness anyways.

WHAT HAPPEN TO THEM, HAVE NOT SEEN OR HEARD ANY NEW MATERIAL, ARE THEY STILL TOGETHER AND SINGING?
@Navyman82510 жыл бұрын
Acappella is still around, the group changes members as time goes on. This line up of Acappella is not together anymore, but there is a new group.
@mcasteel199613 жыл бұрын
@Thehuskarl // The passages you have referenced are psalms of David and not instructional passages on how er are to worship the Lord God as New Testament Christians. David penned these words long before Christ was born and befrore the introduction of Christianity in the world. Colossians 3:16 and Ephesians 5:19 tell us that we are to sing and make melody in our hearts. As we are singing we are teaching one another, how can we teach someone making sounds like mechanical insturments?

I Love You Jesus Christ !!! Philippians 2:7-9 (King James Version) 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
