Recently, I have been paying attention not only to sound, but also to personal physical sensations. So it seems to me that Trent is easier and more convenient to play on the A1, in the 8310Z you have to push the notes and this is also technically constraining. I would choose A1. (I use Google translator, so I apologize in advance if my English is bad)

The Yamaha all the way for me out of these two 😁

To me, the Yamaha sounded much cleaner and crisper. After the Yam the Adams seemed a little woolly.

Well, I'm mixed as some things sounded better on the Adams while some sounded better on the Yamaha🤔 I'm guessing, this Yamaha is the one before the current one? Thanks

The Adam's seems more compact - core and nice overtones. Yamaha seems broader with a distinct bright shimmer in the tone.

I agree the A1 had a fuller richer sound which works very well with your playing style.

I am very surprised by the Yamaha, the sound is more lyrical and a lot of overtones. The Adams was more focused and projected the sound better. My feelings, according to the sound of each trumpet, is the conical bore of the Yamaha made more of a rounder sound and the flow was very fluid. The Adams, to me, was more of the Dixie sound and very bright. Since I am a cornet player, I have to be honest and lean more towards the Yamaha.

it's interesting you categorized the sounds this way because to my ears it's just the opposite. It definitely goes to show you how we all listen differently to the tone of an instrument. Thank you for commenting! Check out the newer video I put up of the horns as well!

@@austincustom To me the Yamaha has a deeper sound and the Adams a more brighter sound. Even to the attacks and releases were softer on the Yamaha and more distinct and sharp on the Adams. I'll listen to the new video and I'll let you know. Thanks for your reply.

Did the Yamaha feel more agile to you on this take?

no they both felt about the same. The Yamaha did feel a bit tighter to me (due to the smaller bore overall).

The Adams sounded on the very last clip much easier to play the Collins lick

I thought the A1gen2 made the Yamaha sound boring. Although the Yamaha was decent for jazz. Hands down, I would pick the A1!

I hope you will listen to the second clip I put up later. I think both horns are wonderful although of course I am biased towards the A1! Thank you for checking the clips out!
