@@2Old4Forza I got rid of my Rift when ACC was 0.7 version and i had a fair bit higher settings than this on my 1080ti/7700k system . I hope Kunos can get better performance for all ! Triples seems to be pretty good now so maybe they can focus on VR next .

@@2ndLastJedi AC looks amazing in VR and is my primary sim. I love my rift for that and IL2 sturmovik. ACC not so much at this time

most sim titles are pretty demanding on the CPU so having a good CPU is important. The issue with ACC is specific to VR performance. which even on my rig is awful.

@@2Old4Forza Might be less important than you think. I'm gaming on an i3-8100 on vr and except running lots of a.i's on AC, I'm happy. Getting 60-80 fps with relatively low graphics settings

In my experience car count is the determining factor if your cpu can handle AC. Oddly enough AI and multiplayer seem to load the cpu about the same. If u wanna run a full grid of 24 on SRS in VR you better have a decent cpu

@@2Old4Forza true, but I still manage a 550 rating on srs (and a better cpu won't make me much faster...!) I'm not saying that mine is a preferable gaming setup, I sacrifice both in fps and graphics settings (BTW what fps do you get on AC?) just saying it's very doable. in case any other cheapskate racer is reading this...

A better CPU wont make you faster, but running VR @ 60 FPS means you are probably in re-projection 45 mode. which is much better than a true 60 fps as that would be a stuttery mess in VR. I can hold a consistent 90 FPS with up to about 36 cars on my system using a HP reverb that produces twice the pixels as a valve index / vive pro / odyssey + at native resolution. So, on the official forum, Kunos staff explained that one of the reasons VR is so taxing, is because of the version of UE4 they used to be able to achieve their lighting and day/night effects. They are definitely working on finding a way around it, but it remains to be seen whether or not its a dead end.

that makes a lot of sense actually. The lighting effects are the best I have ever seen and clearly are very advanced. I think ambient occlusion is also a real issue for unreal engine in VR. Hopefully a combination of VRSS integration, and further optimization will yield a good VR experience without needing to upgrade to whatever the next gen video card will be. I really want to love ACC but I love VR more. LOL

Just not a fan of this title. I have a 8700k and 1080ti. That should slay this game....even in VR. It doesn’t though, plus its a pain in the ass to use in VR in general. Did they ever add mouse support in VR? The ffb is good and the cars handle good but neither are good enough for me to stop playing titles that have more verity of cars and tracks. The GT3 cars in those titles are good enough in my opinion.

tried it today for first time. rtx2070, ryzen5 1600x (i know), tried a ton of settings. even with resolution at 60. the most i got was 70ish fps and not even steady. looks like doodo even at 200% res. im returning it now. too bad just trying to race for cheaper

@@RVRCloset 4k is rather nice on my 1080ti ;) mostly epic settings but mirrors off and shadows High and a pretty good lock on 60fps.im glad I sold my Rift.

I like the ffb too however it doesn’t seem as heavy on the wheel. Other than road effects and car braking. Even with playing with settings I can’t find that good spot.

It seems to only be the wheel feel almost like there is extreme power steering on the gt cars

play with the dynamic damper in game. I wish I had more specific advice but I am not very motivated to go through my FFB testing process on ACC since the VR support is so poor
