I guess the reason Lana didn’t have as strong a reaction when she saw the clones is because she was probably relieved for the explanation that she wasn’t being haunted by a ghost or imagining the whole thing!!!

She's also trying to be strong for Clark as well because her character probably questions why she's not with him. So she's trying to be emotionally stable, like how Clark always is.

In the grand scheme of things cloning definitely played into the series mythology, as Lex clones his brother, and ultimately Alt- Lionel clones many Lexes to harvest parts to ressurect the Lex we see in the final episode.

Jodelle did a fantastic job as Emily. For being so young at the time, she had the creep factor down. It's no surprise she went on to do roles in other horror/suspense movies. The graveyard scene is probably one of the best of the entire series.

I'm with Michael, the scene where Clark runs between gravestones in the cemetery in the rain, running after the "ghost" child and the raindrops come to the foreground, the atmosphere is surreal, creepy and gloomy and the scene is partly in slow motion, they create an atmosphere so perfect and very engaging for the viewer, it gives you the impression that you are there with Clark too, and Tom was perfect❤! This was lowkey my favorite Smallville episode of all time. This episode was executed absolutely to perfection with the characters, particularly with Tom Welling's and Kristin Kreuk. This was my most re-watched episode of the entire series, and that's saying something. The vibe on this episode was totally different but eerily amazing from every episode on the series with the exception of Labyrinth, where, in my opinion was Tom Welling's best episode in terms of his acting! Now, to relax and watch the ultimate talkville episode to see how the actual actors felt on this one.🌹🌹🌹

One of my favorite episodes in this Season... Even though this is Lana's story, we get to see how her relationship with Clark blossoms even more... Granted we still see Chloe as the jealous 3rd wheel, but she still helps Clark a little bit... Lionel being behind the cloning experiments was a nice touch... The girl that played Emily did an awesome job as she creeped me out a little bit... Again, I never get tired of the Lex and Lionel back and forth 👍🏾... Kristin did an excellent job also because I felt her emotions whether it's fear, sympathy, pain, relief and her vulnerability especially opening up to Clark... I'm not a huge horror fan, however, there are exceptions and this one is one of them because of the story... One of my favorite scenes (as I'm sure this may be one of Ryan's favorite scenes) is the graveyard scene when Clark and Pete look for Emily... That scene still holds up... As far as my rating goes for this episode, I give it 🌹🌹1/2 (2.5 roses)... #LoveThePodcastFellas #TalkvilleWednesdays

This was a fun yet spooky episode honestly. Have to say that Kristin gave some outstanding moments in her performance in this one. Particularly moments with Clark taling about Emily at the river, her moments with young Emily and again her final scene with Clark at the end of the episode. She showed great emotion and acting chops. Was nice to learn about her history with Emily, but wish that it could have been explored a little bit further. Still, overall a fun episode.😀

The scene where Clark immerses himself in bullet time, granting him a glimpse of Emily in her swift, ethereal motion-a sight imperceptible to ordinary human eyes was incredible. This revelation was a real shock to Emily, for until now, there had not been another soul capable of perceiving her presence, thus leading people to perceive her coming and going as that of a ghost. This scene bears a striking resemblance to the cinematic film Justice League, wherein the Flash employs the same tactics in order to aid his comrades. In the scene, Flask employs bullet time to aid his teammates against Superman, however, when he does so he is astonished that Clark's discerning gaze can track his every movement easily. The astonishment on his face-mirrors the precise instant when Emily, too, realizes Clark's unique ability to perceive her existence. I do wonder if the writers, and directors of the film Justice League took inspiration from this scene since it was a really cool scene. Ps I thought this was a really good episode and everyone did a great job. Notably, the little girl played by Jodelle Micah Ferland, who portrayed Emily did an incredible job. I saw her in the cancelled television series "The Collector," during the pandemic where she assumed the role of the devil/little girl . In that portrayal, Ferland's performance exuded a chilling intensity and an unmistakable aura of malevolence, so compelling that one could truly believe her to be the embodiment of evil itself and the funny thing is she did it one year after Smallville, so she was still a little girl.

This episode always gave me the creeps. Lana had so much trauma in her life, and now we learn that her good friend died at the age of 10. I don't understand how she is managing it all. Lionel is so sketchy and sly, he tries to make Lex doubt his sanity, to gaslight him. All the cloning stuff was so scary and creepy. I loved the scene between Clark and Lana at the end where she confesses that she is scared that Clark would not like her if he saw who she really is. Beautiful scene with a beautiful song and a great performance by Kristin Kreuk. Very good episode: 🌹 and a half

I call this episode the creepy kid episode. Lionel was more creepy than the kid though. In the scene where Lionel drops off the wedding gift he brings up gluttony. Then Lex brings up the 7 deadly sins which is foreshadowing because in Shazam John Glover’s character dies after his son asks one of the 7 deadly sins to kill him. Pete’s reaction to the movie was priceless. Also Clark and Pete sure love hanging out in the cemetery. The actor who played Emily’s dad was in Scrubs and In the Middle. One powerful scene for me was when Clark and Lex were talking about cloning. Clark takes the it is wrong side while Lex chooses to see beyond that. Tom and Michael played that very well. The look on Clark’s face when Martha asks Lana to stay the night was priceless. This would be a different look when she would ask Lois in a later season. Also the cloning story line reminds me of a story line from one of the comics when Lex clones Superman. Kristen did a great job in this episode especially dealing with the scary stuff. That ending scene where Lionel is going to raise Emily as his own as her dad watches on was so good and definitely highlights Lionel creepiness. Love the podcast and y’all.

Clark and Lana's scene in the loft at the end is on of my favorite Smallville scenes ever such a beautiful scene, their chemistry was magical, the music was perfect and it felt like a defining moment for their relationship. Great performances in this episode especially by Kristin and John. Jodelle Ferland did so good. The special effects in the graveyard scene were well done! Loved the emotional scenes at the bridge. The under the water scene of Clark saving Lana was amazing! Lionel and Lex going at each other is always chief kiss and Lionel's wickedness is being exposed at the end. This episode was truly enjoyable, featuring an array of remarkable scenes that captivated me. It would have been nice if you had brought the actor who portrayed Emily as a guest to talk about the role, how she managed to prepare for the role, what she was doing when she got the role, what it was like for her on sets with adults, how did the directors get her to do scenes in order to portray it the way she did, what she did and didn't like, how she managed to play a character that lacks empathy leading her to do terrible things yet innocent at the same time.

I got a huge laugh out of the wedding cake scene, when Lionel takes a bite of cake that looks normal, then asks for some water, turns, and for like a fraction of a second you can see that a literal third of the cake is gone. IDK, it sounds lame written out, but I thought it was funny to see. Loved the run through the rain, and the creepy theater scene with Emily, and that first scene with Neil Flynn made me wonder if he has any dramatic roles in his filmography. I've only seen his comedic stuff, this scene, where he just looks like a still grieving father was really good. But I have to call BS on Clark not knowing anything about Emily when he and Lana were both 10 when she died. And on Lana's scary movie jump/hand-holding. I really wish Chloe's look at the theater had been less "woe is me and my sad loveless life!" and more "are you f-ing kidding me?" I want this love triangle to be over so bad.

LOVE IT some cool other things of note for this ep: -The look on Clark's face when Lana grabs his hand was just priceless (my later issues w Lana aside, really rooting for you two crazy kids now!) -BEAUTIFUL VFX graveyard scene. . .you guys discuss it, worth a 2nd mention!🌹🌹🌹 -Did anyone catch that the engraving on Emily's headstone shows she died in 1996 at 10 yrs old, but the story describes that she actually died 6 years ago (1997)...maybe this ep was originally supposed to air in 2002? and they pushed it back after the props were made, or maybe a script change that didn't make it into the final cut? insignificant, but I was curious for the production aspect -John Glover is just gold in this (as per usual) -love the barn scene, FINALLY she ran out of excuses not to be within him. But he should have kissed her! even just a small sweet kiss and an embrace (noted that she asks him to hold her after saving her from the river) trying to catch up to present podcasts! looks like I am gonna miss it live tmrw but should be there by next Wed. CAN'T WAIT 🤗🤗🤗

What's interesting is what Tom said about the seven deadly sins. I am rewatching Supernatural because I had the urge, so I rewatched the entire first and second seasons over the weekend, and I am currently on season three. Long story short, there was an episode about the seven deadly sins. Anyway, Sam asks Dean about the seven deadly sins, and Dean responds with a line from the film Seven, starring Brad Pitt. Everyone looks at Dean, puzzled, and he clarifies that he was referring to the movie Seven as the seven deadly sins, just like Tom did. Now, I bring this up because it's the second time I've heard the seven deadly sins being referenced as the movie Seven, first by Dean Winchester and now by Tom Welling. I might have to watch the movie Seven just to understand the reference.

One of the standouts through second season. This one feels different from your usual freak of the week EP despite having another kryptonite influenced character.

Once again a good episode, but as a french fan of Clark and Lana it's sad we move on quickly and don't talk enough about their scenes (especially that scene in the loft and many scenes in the loft). Tom and Kristin have incredible chemistry and it would be nice if Tom talks more about filming those scenes or if he has questions about Clark and Lana's relationship.. In this episode, for example, they had a lot of scenes together, but we talked more about Clark and Pete... So I hope we'll talk more about them in future episodes ;)

Jodelle went on to star in Silent Hill and Tideland. She was great in both. I didn't keep track after that but I'll always remember her as a talented child actor.

She's an excellent adult actor now, did a sci-fi action show called dark matter. And her last recent appearance was on show called aurora tea garden mysteries with the actress from full house. Her and Kristen kreuk could be sisters. She looks just like her now

I thought Lana looked freaked out by Emily's clones especially after one of the clones opened their eyes she screamed, her face looked so freaked out and was sweating a little. Even when they went back to the Kents she was silent and still looked shaken when Clark and his parents were talking about Emily's clones. But Lana had a fair share of creepiness happening in her life with all the meteors freaks with crazy powers who tried to kill her (like Tina Grier, Ian who could dedoubled himself, Byron the werewolf...) so it's not like she never saw anything creepy in her life. They all were exposed to weird stuff in Smallville.

11:10 Personally I liked this episode as we got another “speedster” along with Clark so we could see “shared Clark time” to blur time and see what they see when they are speeding.
