안녕하세요! 지금 미국 고등학교에 다니는 11학년 학생이에요! 갑자기 미술이 너무 하고싶어서 대학도 미술쪽으로 생각하고 있고 UCLA를 거의 목표로 하고 있는데 여름방학때 포트폴리오를 시작하면 너무 늦을까요? 혹시 학원에서 도움을 받으셨는지요? 현재 시국이 이래서 학원도 못알아보고 집에만 있는데 걱정이 되서요ㅠㅠ 딱히 미술실력이있는것은 아니라 걱정이 너무 되네요ㅠㅠ AP class는 어느것을 하셨었나요? 그리고 gpa나 sat는 어느정도 되셨는제 알수있을까요? (대충 어느정도가 되야되는지만요!)영상에 나온 그림들 다 너무 잘 봤어요! 와....정말 그림들이 하나하나 개성이 있는게 너무 대단하신것 같아요 정말 저는 언제 저런 그림실력을 가질수 있을까요...특히 애니메이션보고 깜짝 놀랐습니다 ㅎㅎ

안녕하세요. 오홋 멋진목표네욥!! 저도 사실 제대로 마음먹고 입시 포폴 준비하기 시작한건 11학년 여름부터였습니다. 제 경험상 전혀 늦었다고 생각되진 않습니다. 언제 시작했던 얼마나 만족스러운 작품들을 만들어내는게 중요하니까욥. 저는 사실 미술학원은 두달 정도다니다가 금전적인 부담, 또 혼자서도 입시 포폴 준비할수있겠다는 생각에 관뒀습니다. weighted total gpa는 3.9286, ap는 10학년부터 매년 한개씩만(ap biology, ap us history, ap psychology), 그리고 sat는 처참해서 사실 공개적으로 얘기하기엔 말하기 좀 쑥스럽슴돠. 다행히 저희 학교는 sat를 크게 중요시 안본듯하네요ㅋㅋ 처참했다는것만 알아주세욥ㅋㅋㅋ 저도 입시과정 내내 걱정 많이했고 부담도 많이 느꼈는데 요즘 시국이 시국인지라 더 불안하실것같습니답. 말로는 참 쉽지만 사실 경험상 제가 해드릴수있는 말은 정말 스트레스 받지 마시고 본인이 좋아하는것들 또 자랑스러워할수있는 그럼 작품들로 즐기면서 포폴 준비하셨으면 좋겠습니다. 알차게 준비하셔서 꼭 목표하는 학교 붙으시길 바랍니다!! 그리고 지금 입시준비하고 계시면 제가 전에 올린 Q & A 보시면 제 입시 과정에 대해 설명했는데 물어보신 질문들에 (gpa, ap, 학원, 입시 스토리 등등) 좀더 디테일한 도움이 되지않을까 싶습니다. holy cannoli your work is awesome! I really liked your figure painting. I'm trying to get figure drawings together for my portfolio this summer. I've done some model sessions in the past, but I've never had a model sit for more than thirty to forty minutes per pose. Did your models sit for all of the hours you worked on your long-form pieces, or did you have to put a lot of time into painting and drawing after the fact?

@@민-x8m 1. 저같은 경우는 사실 외가족이 원래 미국에 살고있었어서 6학년때 한국에서 교육적목적으로 미국에 왔습니다. 근데 저는 사실 미대에 가기로 마음먹은건 11학년때였고 그 전에 따로 준비한건 없었습니다. 넵. 저는 한국에서도 충분히 준비 가능하다고 생각합니다. 사실 미대같은경우는 유학생 교모가 아주 큰편이고 또 저도 학교 들어와서 만난 친구들도 유학생인 친구들이 아주 많습니다. 그리고 한국인 친구들도 사실 대부분 한국에서 초중고 다 나오고 입시준비도 한국에서 해서 대학만 미국으로 온 친구들의 얘기를 들어서 충분히 가능하다고 생각합니다! 2. 넵. 한국 수능과는 관련이 없는걸로 알고 있습니다. 학교마다 다르지만 토플점수를 요구하는 학교들도 있고요 또 아티스트 스태잇먼트도 중요하게 봅니다. 하지만 물론 포트폴리오가 젤 중요하쥬. 정확한 실기/비실기 비율은 알려진바는없는데 사실 성적이나 여러 시험점수들보다 포폴이 말그대로 압도적입니다. 3. 저도 한국 미대 입시 과정에 대해서는 알고있는 정보는 많이 없는데 이 질문같은 경우는 사실 케바케 일것같아요. 요즘은 교환학생 기회도 다양하게 있으니까 만약에 학위를 한국미대에서 따되 외국미대에서는 또 다른 경험하고 배우는거에 긍정적으로 생각하시면 한국미대도 당연히 좋다고 생각하고요, 아예 첨부터 끝까지 목표하시는 외국미대 시스템에서 배우는게 더 관심있으시면 당연히 그것도 아주 좋다고 생각합니답! 4. 사실 미술적인 실력도 당연히 중요하지만 영어공부도 정말 중요한것같아요. 특히 미대는 발표도 많고 또 작품 작업할때 교수님이랑 클래스메이트들이랑 제한없이 자유롭게 의사표현하고 또 여러 방면에서 걸림돌이 되지않으려면 영어실력이 정말 중요하다고 느꼈습니다. 또 사실 팁이라 하기도 애매한 정말 1차원적인 말인데 일단 많이 그리고 실패하고 경험하는것도 도움되고 또 무조건 대중적이고 관심을 끌수 있는 작품과 주제보단 본인이 좋아하는것, 또 본인과 본인의 가치관, 스토리를 잘 표현할수있는 작품들로 포폴꾸리시면 좋을것같아욥. 사실 말로는 쉬운데 입시준비하면서 너무 걱정하고 스트레스 받는것보다 여유가지고, 또 다른분들 작품과 비교하면서 자책하지말고 본인이 작업하면서 즐길수있고 애정을 쏟을수있는 작품들 만들시면 좋을것같습니답! 생각나는선에서 나름 답하려 했는데 도움이 될지는 잘모르겠네욥. 혹시 질문 더 생기시면 편하게 물어보셔도됩니답! 화이팅하세욥!!

Yes, it is possible depending on the quality of your admissions portfolio and your financial status.

Zedus if you are in need of more financial aid compared to other students, you’re more likely to receive more financial aid added to your scholarship. i haven’t met anyone who received a full ride scholarship only because their portfolio was excellent.
