hello, thanks for sharing your portfolio i appreciate that, if you do not mind i have a few questions to be solved: do we have to show the materials and fabrics for fashion design? 2. do we have to show research with annotation and inspirations in every work whether it is product or fashion, or is it ok to just show them in some works in portfolio? 3. is fashion illustration a thing that we design, for examp0le in portfolio can i just draw fashion illustrations from anywhere and saying that is fashion illustration? Hey!! I’m taking a course called the international introduction to the study of fashion:) however next year I’ll be starting a 3 year course for my bachelors degree but I’m still unsure of which course I’ll choose (somewhere in fashion). There are MANY foreign students in my classes. Almost 95% are foreign and come from many different places around the world so I wouldn’t worry! I taught myself how to sew before I applied to colleges

I'm pretty sure some students were able to apply for a loan before starting their term. As for scholarships, I wasn't able to source any for the specific program that I'm doing this year (foundation course), however, I know that for many BA, and MA courses they provide scholarships and bursaries!!

Ayo don’t get too critical about your work. I know you’re probably just being hard on yourself because I do the same. Just keep pushing and keep creating stuff. Whatever you have you should just put it into your portfolio. As long as you follow your schools guidelines you should submit it, because you may or may not be surprised of the outcome!!!

No you don’t! They don’t expect you to have any expertise in sewing since that will be taught during your time there. All the teachers are very nice and I haven’t had any bad experiences so far:)

Hiiii!!! Do not worry about the sketching too much. We all have our weak points in fashion but if you highlight what you’re really good at that should be all that matters. However, do try to show them a couple sketches as well. My portfolio was done on the application. They have a place for every applicant to submit it so you can format it once you start applying! You also don’t have to digitally make anything if you don’t want to. It’s just what I did :)

Don’t do your portfolio all digitally they aren’t that into that. Do it by hand, scan it and arrange it digitally and clean it up a bit. Sketching is important but it doesn’t have to be fashion sketches. Just demonstrate that you are engaging with it, trying different things and evolving. They don’t care for perfection at all

Yes I made my own patterns, just practice making your own! I watched so many tutorials on KZbin which helped a lot. Kim Dave has many videos on beginner patterns that you should check out❤️
