It will definitely be determined by what type of Sage he is, if he is both Basim and Loki, or if Loki has completely taken over Basim. Until this video, I had been assuming that Loki did ultimately win over Basim's consciousness since he was willing to betray Eivor in Valhalla (not something an honorable assassin would do), but that many of Basim's quirks, personality, and interests become meshed into Loki's personality, to the effect of Basim still being a part of Loki. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, the suspense is what Ubisoft if obviously playing on, and whether Basim/Loki will be a good main character.

You know, in AC Valhalla dawn of Ragnarok and the forgotten saga, it is stated that baldr will be resurrected somehow. I believe, there will be a major role of baldr in future games. Although, AC Valhalla left us with so many questions than answers. Like certain characters like loki's children, reda, vidar(who apparently kills fenrir in Norse mythology) and many others. Also with questions like what was the niflheim, who were the ones before ISU, and the biggest for me is why the Norse ISU chose to be reincarnated only once instead of repeatedly reincarnated like AITA.

When you were talking about Basim coming to an understanding with Loki, it isnt that complicated. They practically lived the same lives. Cut off from their family at a young age, brought into a group that only cared to use them for their own benefit, the turmoil Basim experienced with Roshan is mirrored by Loki's relationship with Odin and at the end of their stories, they both chose to retaliate against their group and think of their own survival. While living such similar lives its easy to think why they would come to understand one another

Hello, where is this animus-like interface from? (0:55)
@basilofgoodwishes4138 Жыл бұрын
I believe this game is going to present Basim and by extension Loki more sympathetically than in Valhalla since we are getting to see their perspective of events, since Eivor and Odin are too biased to have an accurate picture, hence Fenrir is treated as a monster rather than a Person deserving of love and hope. Fenrir was an innocent child that was left to be malnourished and deprived of his vitality and happiness by Odin, all because of his fear of his death in the battle of Ragnarök he himself caused. I also believe that Baldur is not the innocent baby boy his parents presented him as such, remember that Norse mythology has never been presented accurately by the people after the original practitioners converted to Christendom a long time ago. Also, even if we use the old depictions of the Isu by the Norse people, Baldur has been presented in earlier myths as more cruel and war-like unlike the baby boy Snorri, Frigg and Odin made him out to be. He forced Nanna to marry him and killed her brother who wanted to protect her and going from there, we can infer that he might be very cruel, especially when the forgotten saga implied him being interested in World domination as he manipulated his own parents and led to his mother's death in order to rule in the human era. Maybe Basim killed him because of that or was a victim of Baldur's manipulation, whatever the case, the comics and the update made it quite clear that he staged his death, thus making Basim's crime not as severe as Odin fans want to make us believe. They even treat the imprisonment of Fenrir as something humane and minor when Odin tortured and scarred that little boy for life and to death. Overall I hope they make this game better than Valhalla and really return to the roots, if not, Assassin's Creed is dooooomed...forever. What do you think about that? Tell me in the comments below and may the Creed follow you!
@a.qais6697 Жыл бұрын
Well a sympathetic portrayal would be nice because last I played Valhalla he turned out to be a betrayer. Not a very heroic protagonist. Unless I misunderstood the story/lore.
@basilofgoodwishes4138 Жыл бұрын
@@a.qais6697 You did. He only betrayed Odin because his son was unfairly imprisoned by Odin and on top of that, he was tortured, which infuriated Basim enough to rebell against him in the past and plot his revenge in the human world successfully as Eivor died without her reclaiming Scandinavia as the new Odin, leaving Basim with all of his secrets and skills and the chance to bring his family back together and start anew as Humans in peace and happiness. Basim is quite heroic even with his faults, he is the best protagonist since Edward and on top of this, Mirage and Basik are the only hope for a good AC series, if it fails, I'll leave that series for good. I hope and love for Basim's future to be bright and I think it maybe will be. We have to wait and see until then, much luck from me to you and to Acess the animus and finally Basim and Mirage.

So I was thinking right. In Eivors perception he sees the Greek Gods as Jotun. Even Sutr is confirmed to be Zeus. In Jotunheim you can find Sutrs Castle. It’s a huge fortress on the Tallest mountain. That means it’s Mt Olympus. We know Minerva is Gunlodr. Basim calls the Jotun “his” people. His wife Angrboda is a Jotun. Which makes her a Greek Goddess. She is Aphrodite. Which means Basim is not only Loki, but Hermes. As Hermes is her wife. And Loki’s and Angrboda’s son Fenrir is Hermaphroditus. The Staff of Hermes literally contains Angrbodas/Minervas consciousness. I’ve looked online and I haven’t seen anyone piece these clues together. Though I’m sure people have I just didn’t have any luck finding it so I wanted to post this here to get people’s thoughts. Also the Muspels are Egyptian Gods. Suttungr is Ra. Which means Gunnlöð is Sehkmet and Sinmara is Hathor. Also his son who is Half Jotun half Muspel (Half Greek Half Egyptian) is Typhon, as Typhon is both a Greek Titan(Jotun) and an Egyptian God Set(Muspel)

I'm so curious to know if the creators of AC think that most people know this story as much as you do and without help from videos like this. Because i reckon it has got to be less than 1% of people know the story even if they're interested in it.
@TheRahulJL Жыл бұрын
Cause they're only interested in fancy-ass assassin gameplay without care for the story of Isu, who are the very reason the Assassin-Templar conflict came in the first place. They can't understand the fact that what is shown as 'mythological magic' is actually 'advanced science' but since the protagonists (Eivor/Kassandra) minds cannot comprehend it as such, it became stories of mythology. And the characters are living through the memories of Isu past through the stories that were told to them by humans as gods and monsters, since the Isu created them in their own self image.

Muspelheim ( A location where this story take place at and is the realm where a being called Surtur lived while we also meet Juno as Hyrrokkin) was confirmed by the devs to take place in North Africa, presumably Egypt, but then again mythology is a rather bad lens to understand the Isu though and will not grant us the full picture of context other than a veil from which we have to look at and get our information from, unless we want to look beyond that and finds out all their secrets.
@AccessAnimus Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Dawn of Ragnarok's main location, Svartalfheim, is never stated to be modern North Africa, but instead the "realm" of Muspelheim, the invading force in DoR, was confirmed by by Darby McDevitt to be located roughly in North Africa. It's not hinted at or mentioned in the games (yet?), but it comes from the Narrative Director, so imho it should be valid enough
