I love Basim's background story. It's just disappointing that nowadays so much of this is told outside the games. Most people don't read these novels so events and characters feel disconnected and don't make much sense for players.

I have not watched this video yet, since I started reading “the golden city” just a couple of days ago and want to avoid spoilers, but I want to discuss a thing: we know there were many inconsistencies with the song of glory comic, but are we sure Ammon was a member of the Hidden Ones? Basim was working for his own goal so it is entirely possible he wouldn’t want to inform the brotherhood about details like his schearching of a norseman, he could have even trained a couple of man to be sure they were faithful to him. For example, in the comic it seems Basim doesn’t want them to use his real name, it doesn’t seem necessary within the brotherhood but it would be if he wanted to avoid people who knew him, like the brotherhood itself. This would explain why Ammon used the hidden blade the wrong way.
@Noctuam734 Жыл бұрын
Can you explain what exactly Song of Glory contradicts? I haven't read it
@davidestabilini4468 Жыл бұрын
@@Noctuam734 since there were problems in communication between ubisoft and the author, in the comic the characters sometimes are completely different from their game counterparts (Kjotve was base on an old artwork, for example), a member of the Brotherhood wears the hidden blade like Darius on his right wrist and the “reincarnation” of Idunn, the only one who does not appear in Valhalla, has the mark on the wrong side of the neck. What I was saying in the comment above is: if the Hidden One was not in fact one of them, at least one of this mistakes can be overlooked.

@Access The Animus There is also the book Assassin's Creed: The Golden City, where Basim and Hytham are partners in mission. Unfortunately it's her, because the canon character is a female. It's annoying for me, as well, but Ubi is to blame for this.
@xzxasxadxas Жыл бұрын
@@Astristul they did explain it in the game as well as in the trailers that both are canan, which as I recall confused fans. In the game, we learn, Eivor is female but she has Odin's DNA, so the animus is confused who is who. Eivor, unlike the other reincarnations (sages), has major differences to Odin, which is why unlike Sigurd and Basim, Eivor doesn't merge with Odin, but remains separate, because the differences between them are too great. That's why "male Eivor" looks exactly like Odin - because that is Odin. Also, this is why whenever you "let the animus decide" it always picks "female Eivor" in the base game and "male Odin" in Dawn Of Ragnarok.
@poofnimgone Жыл бұрын
Eivor/Odin’s conclusion sucked. They could’ve done it way better and sensible.
