Khichadi is different in different parts of India - Maharashtra and up . When we recently spoke to a MALOO raised in Kerala , they didn't know what this is :) " khichadi " means - " all together in no particular order . This is generally made when there are no vegetables at home eaten with a 1/4 spoon of ghee" and curd . A peasants meal , that deserves its attention since it can be made fast , because it is the cilantro which adds it flavor ! and eaten faster to serve a growling stomach - and very satisfying .
