Ingredients
White Rice-1/2cup
Moong Dal-1/2cup
Green chilli-2
Ginger-1tsp
Onion-1/2
Salt-
Turmeric Powder-2 pinch
Cumin seeds -1/4tsp
Oil or ghee -2tbsp
Tomato-1 big
Asafoetida Powder -1/4tsp
Water -31/2 cup
Method
Roast dal for 10 minutes in medium heat by stirring continuously
Then soak both rice and dal for 20 minutes .
Then wash well ..
Heat oil or ghee in a cooker
Splutter cumin seeds ,then add onion,ginger,chilli and salt saute till translucent
Then add turmeric powder and asafoetida powder and saute
Now add tomato and cook well .
Add rice and stir for 2 minutes.
Finally, add water and mix well.
check the salt, close and cook for 6 whistles in high flame.
Then switch off the flame and open when the cooker is pressure free ..
So the tasty kichadi is ready to serve ..
