I tried it and it was really good. I improvised it by roasting the Dal mix in ghee for 2-3 mins before putting it in the cooker which gave a nuttiness to the khichdi. Thanks for the recipe, Chef. I love to come to this channel every now and then.

Actually, this is not the simple khichdi that we eat at home. I have personally only had this in restaurants in Mumbai. I don't think you get this in North india. It is so amazing. I always eat it when i visit Mumbai. There is a palk dal version as well. Do try if you get a chance to go to Mumbai ( assuming you are not from there). 🙏🙏

The most authentic dal khichdi recipe. It is cooked almost in the same way at my home. Most of the recipes available cook both dal and chawal combined even knowing that dal needs more time to cook than rice which if cooking together does not give the correct texture and the perfect test.
