Very interesting and you produce some excellent data. I have just done a multispectral course (I have amongst others a M3M). I didn't know that for crash investigations many police forces collect both RGB and MS data.

Ok I use pix4d and my 3d looks like the LE agencies 3d. Your 3d was exactly what I need I assume it has something to do with the orbit photos how many passes did you make and did you vary the altitude? I would be very interested in your course. Right now we use a farro for our 3ds but I'm trying to get a move to drone since the scene can be shot in 15mins as opposed to an hr/hr and a half per crash.

Half the issue is with Farro, using Terra is night and day difference.

Public Safety use drones to collect the data to supplement the ground data collected.

What I learned is the RTK value isn't worth the cost. Absolute accuracy doesn't matter in reconstruction, just relative accuracy. Save your pennies for better software.

RTK is needed in cases where the data has to be validated.

@ can you expand on this? How does RTK validate the data? Or what validation are you looking for?

The police department didn’t run RTK? Seems the smooth shiny surfaces like glass are tough for most photogrammetry software without RTK

@@mbs7567 No they did not and they don't need to. We do 3D models with the M30T without RTK all the time and get great results. It's all in the techniques used.
