Definitely sucks that the magnet killed the turbo, but like you said, we just gotta move on. I just hope you can fix that turbo without breaking the bank or losing too much time. Just don't stress about it too much Coop, I'm sure none of us, you and Bronte included, want to see you with grey hair this soon lol, so just make sure to keep looking forward to better things, like making the Impasta go even faster than it is now :) Here's my _"Kowalski, analysis!" "Aye aye, Skipper!"_ of the turbo during the race: First off, well before the race, the magnet sheet getting chewed up by the turbo's sheer vacuum pressure likely broke something in the turbo's shaft, perhaps the thrust bearing if what I know about turbochargers is correct, so you may want to see if the thrust bearing is still intact since its inner ring might be shifting forward and backwards now. Now, during the burnout though before the race, you can hear through the camera's microphone the noise of the compressor vanes making contact with the compressor housing as the compressor wheel likely shifted forward with the shaft (its a sound akin to metal contacting a wire wheel or a grinder), thus losing a load of turbo rpm and thus boost. After this I believe the turbine would've shifted back again due to engine vacuum pressure as well as exhaust pressure, so by the time you went on the trans-brake to build boost, the turbocharger was already orders of magnitude beyond friction specs and as the boost went up, the compressor shifted forward again and then the boost fell to zero, thus also choking out the engine intake, generating loads of backpressure and reducing the engine power under its moon-tune to levels below what a stock N/A 2JZ could make, thus resulting in a very anemic performance. So I recommend you at least take a peek at the valves to check for any damage there from possible compressor bits, but otherwise it seems you were quite fortunate that the turbo didn't seize nor did it disintegrate from being imbalanced and that only the turbine wheel was damaged.

Props Cooper. You stood up, took it on the chest, and most importantly, moved on. I have to say you're appearing more comfortable in front of the camera, and maybe the editing has good flow. Using local people is a productive choice, much like your approach to standardising all ancilliary equipment so you have backup within your own inventory/community. And in many ways, race cars are just platforms ready for any kind of meet where their design suits the challenge. Eg., Peter keeps Paul on the track and vice versa; hence Drift Cars?? Just 30 mins a day on any job, no matter how trivial. If you don't have a part, consider the pleasures of scouring a wreckers yard, find a piece you can renovate/modify. Make some of your own bits, ie exhaust hangers, radiator standoffs/brackets. I'd really like to see you driving it. However I understand why the 2JZ Comaro is front and centre. Cheers
