I would totally take the h22 off your hands! Good luck with the k swap. Appreciate your work.

I know a guy who did a k24 swap on his cb7 and he described the process as hell and just from your introduction it seems hard as hell way harder than the h22 swap

Dang I was hoping to see the evolution of that H in that CB9! I was hoping you were dropping video for “forged internals” or “getting the H ready for big power” oh well, “K is the way” nice to have a 6 speed option
@accord_aero_r Жыл бұрын
Yeah, fixing the H would have been cheaper than the K swap, but still an interesting build.
@trackshun Жыл бұрын
6 soeed way better for turbo/supercharger especially high comp with supercharger
@accord_aero_r Жыл бұрын
I don't know, people seem to prefer fewer and longer gears with bigger power.@@trackshun
@trackshun Жыл бұрын
@@accord_aero_r ohh well the difference is that the 6 speed will get out of 1st gear quicker than say on a b18 trans/H trans 5 speed. My fg4 civic uses up first gear way quicker than my cousins integra gsr trans. Both have Mfactory lsd both stock synchros. However, it all depends on the build. If youre going anything that isnt k series, youre likely utilizing a 5 speed. The 6 speed k series trans have balanced gear ratiod that basically make up for having an extra gear, but at the same time allowing more grab for power with 6 rather than 5. Compare the ratios, the only time i’d say a 5 speed outdoes a 6 (when speaking of performance) is in the mountains
@Sk8orDieWorldWide Жыл бұрын
@@trackshun not sure about this one. I hear mixed opinions on the 6 speed for turbo applications. Depends on gear ratios for sure.

Nice video. Ya #1 reason i didnt go K in the cb7 was the height of the engine. Will be interesting to see what happens here.

Water pump housing, alternator, tensioner and powersteering pump needs to be switched out to usdms to avoid problems with replacing them in the future. The jdm ones are hard if not impossible to find stateside.
@AcuraLvR82 Жыл бұрын
At least on USDM motors you cannot rely on the RBB number to determine differences but rather the actual year. Ive seen 2006-2008 tsx motors that were RBB-2 that had the larger valves, cams, etc. You also wont use any of the original engine harness plugs. And will simply be just pulling them back through the firewall to conceal them. An oem rsx base, ep3, or crv harness works good you dont need a high dollar tuck harness. You can even convert auto k series engine harnesses from auto to manual to save more money.

I guess i'll wait to buy my mount kit then lol, I'm sure you can have the wires on the tower if you want and if you want a stock ECU you might need an immobilizer bypass.

Base RSX throttle body attaches to a plastic intake manifold which is the big difference. Type-S would be the one to get if it’s RSX

Would you sell the current setup? I’m looking at a H22 swap. I’m not a mechanic but between my son and I think we could rebuild the H22 to solve the low compression. Thanks!

Hey, I couldn't see any other way to contact you, hope you see this. Would you happen to have a right rear ABS speed sensor for a CB7? I've got a pretty nice '92 Accord EX 5sp coupe with the ABS light on, and my mechanic confirmed it needs this discontinued part. Would love for the ABS to work, as it has saved my @$$ more than once in my CR-V. TIA

Dash isn't hard to remove. I can pull one in about an hour if Im being careful to not break any of the plastics but the thing I dread is pulling the clock. After 30 years the plastic on the clocks is so freakin brittle. I have yet to get one out without breaking the clock.

Here's my view on that jdm engine mileage ( on going claims passed down) ive bought few jdm motors and quickly realized that aside from what the staff tells me (less 75k) there's no way to verify what mileage is cause there's never a car with motor in it to see, as all jdm engines imported are motor only so they could say it has 56k miles and it would be believed as well and to hear the same mileage from the 3 different jdm importers ive purchased motors from kinda like its traditional to mileage claim 😂, guess to hear that h22 has low compression on cylinders 1-2 begs the question how does a low mileage jdm motor already have 2 cylinders with ring problems 🤔, either was neglected on oil changes and had got beaten all its life or it has alot more than 75k +/- miles on it , either way its still worth fixing least in my opinion that motor with a Bseries tranny regardless which one is ridiculously quick much needed when pulling 3800 pounds of classic weight 😊
