I am in process of selecting a MAcc program in readiness for the CPA exam. I found Professor Constance Crawford here. In my opinion, she is a GREAT performer, a professor's professor, very classy, ultra-refined, easy to comprehend, articulates her substantive knowledge of the relevant content with superb eloquence. With all due respect, the way she tells the "story"; works the classroom floor and synthesizes the material, makes accounting sexy. In the end, profs' who cannot capture student's engagement, use the board effectively, regulate speech speed to facilitate note taking are half-baked and should [not] be teaching!

Haha. Fabulous. Brings back many fond memories of my undergraduate and graduate days in professional accountancy, management science and business administration in college. Such fun times for sure!! Still remember my intermediate accounting professor instructing our class of 20 to stand up on the first day of school. The professor then asked us to look to our left, then to our right, and then nonchalantly informed the class that only 1 of us would successfully complete the course. He was correct! Talk about survival of the fittest and most qualified!! 34 years later, in corporate financial management, with my CPA /MBA in tow, now happily retired!! Yes, professional accountancy has been a very stimulating, challenging, growth oriented and lucrative career track for me. Sure it will be likewise for everyone here!! Best of luck all!!

Is accounting classes mainly about memorizing?
@dinan545bmw3 жыл бұрын
@@user-qy6tu9ip9v - far from it! If course, you need to "remember" critical accounting principles, standards, rules and promulgations. However, it's the application, interpretation and use of professional judgment that is what makes professional accountancy both challenging and very rewarding. Best of luck to you regardless!

@@dinan545bmw Do you know if supply chain is a decent industry to get into? There seemed to be quite a bit of memorization in this video.
@dinan545bmw3 жыл бұрын
@@user-qy6tu9ip9v - there’s quite a bit of memorization in pretty much all academic subject matters! Accountancy is certainly no different in this regard. But this is only a small part of the profession. It's the application, interpretation and use of professional judgment that makes professional accountancy one of the most esteemed professions even today. Corporate financial management professionals, including accountancy, are in high demand and sought after by every leading company, industry and country globally. Are you in college at the moment or aspiring or contemplating professional accountancy and finance??
@user-qy6tu9ip9v3 жыл бұрын
@@dinan545bmw I am not in college currently. I was thinking of enrolling into the supply chain management program at my local university and accountancy interested me at first. I then saw just how much I would have to memorize and it kind of turned me off.

Brave explanations Professor. In the ledger you have to puts the debit or credits in different accounts like the Assets You can debt but the liability you have to credit it,all those account needs to puts in your leger because you have to give reports about any transactions you made in the business or the company.The income statements will gets all the reports in the business. Like prepaid insurance is an assets. Prepaid rent is when you debit it you will credit the next account which is cash because money is coming out to pay out for the business. Some time i will use cash to debit; it all depends how you can work it again. All those account are similiar to work on them correctly.it takes more wisdom to do them perfectly. I know if i was in this professor class she will proud of me to work along side with me because i will be responding to her teaching in the class.The students are so quiets in her class when she is teaching the professor is doing great job with her explanations.I wish I was in her class now my heart will so happy and sweet to work in her class. I really wants to see how teachers are teaching C.p.A class that why i am up. Why the students are so quiets in the class you guys have to make the class lively because the professor is doing out standing job with her explanations. Good video..can somebody upload C. P.A class teaching for me please. I want to see how the teaching is going on.i need to gets basic understanding on it.

on a serious note, all prepaid expense are assets until they are expensed, but is it still right to record non-refundable prepaid expense as asset, cos technically they cant increase value if not able to use under some special circumstances, and also not able to get a refund, in accounting we record them as asset but isnt that incorrect and since its non-refundable, do we just put it down as expense instead of recording it as an asset
@sangha48394 жыл бұрын
similarly, if yankees ticket was unrefundable, there is no need to record that as a liability, as we are not required to pay back regardless, it would just go straight to revenue?
