You actually explained everything seamlessly and related every accounting principle to a real world, practical use! You didn't just regurgitate definitions and equations, you truly helped me understand how to apply the knowledge. SADLY, SO MANY COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES DO NOT TEACH THIS WAY! And this is honestly why so many students graduate and don't have the skills needed. Some are lazy but for the rest of us, we just don't get professors like you that actually teach one how to fish? For every one of you there are like 1000 just mumbling and bell curving their way through the semester. THANK YOU PROFESSOR KARIN COLQUITT! SERIOUSLY! :)

Accounting is very important in the life of everyone who want to have control over their finance. It is a systematic process of identifying, recording, measuring, classifying, verifying, summarizing, interpreting and communicating financial information. It reveals profit or loss for a given period, and the value and nature of a firm's assets, liabilities and owners' equity.

Yeah, my accounting teacher was clueless as well, and sadly he also was the teacher for my math class. Because it was a small class of like 20 students, he decided it was ok not to teach (yeah screw him). I studied well and ended up getting a B in Accounting and an A in math (I had to spend so much money on a Math tutor though). But yeah, bad teachers sucks but its a good thing KZbin exists haha.

For example, in order to recognize revenue on contracts with customers "we no longer use look to determine whether revenue has been earned or realizable. Instead CPA hopefuls will need to use a 5-step process: (1) identify the contract with customer; (2) identify separate performance obligations; (3) determine the total consideration for the contracts; (4) allocate transaction price to the separate performance obligations ; (5) recognize revenue when the entity satisfies a performance obligations.
