This had nothing to do with the accuracy of the markers. It was all human accuracy. You really want to test and compare, lock them down in a bench vice and run 100 rnds though one and then switch the air tank and barrel over to the other marker and repeat. Otherwise you're introducing too many variables to give an accurate comparison.

Wouldn’t a more accurate test be putting them on stands and putting a hopper on target and measuring the over all area? Pretty much like you would do when grouping ammo for a rifle.

i'll tell you from personal experience, shooting cockers on a stand vs these modern guns, the cocker will seem more accurate mostly because the cockers weigh so much more so they hardly move when shooting.

I forgot about this one! The heydays it was cockers were more accurate and angels were accuracy by volume. In the end, I believe it is all up to the paint consistency. Now for your next one do a autococker vs automag debate to really pull the strings!

accuracy is all in the paint. drop shot is not real, phsyics can't be bent to your will, that's not how it works. it's all perception based on how the marker is laid out which makes it appear to drop faster. go watch the Mythbusters episode where they tested if a shot bullet or dropped bullet hits the ground first. they land at the same time. only reason shots are arcing is because he's aiming higher and physics is bringing it back down. it's not rocket science. well, it relates. ha

not to combat science at all i agree with you you know your stuff (love ur 3D work btw) but don't LV's have a sort of drop shot or is that a placebo affect from owners who run them as their main gat?

@@SleepyInvaderZ thank you! It's all placebo. If they are placed in a mounted setup with both barrels exactly level they will shoot exactly the same arc if set to the same fps. And a ball dropped at the same time from the same height will also hit the ground at the exact same time. Only thing that will change trajectory is the angle the shot is fired. Gravity is gravity. edit: if enacted upon by some sort of outside force that gives the ball spin when exiting the barrel will change it also. see Apex barrels.

@@SleepyInvaderZLV is a stacked tube design. The barrel sits slightly higher in your field or vision. It just appears to be dropping. Back in the day when poppet valve guns still ruled they all shot like that.

Putting spin on the ball can dramatically affect the path it takes, flatline barrels make the balls curve upward during flight. i"m not saying this gun is putting spin on the ball but just saying a ball that hangs in the air longer is breaking physics is wrong.

Autococker guy here. Good paint (especially if it’s matched to a), decent battle, which also causes constant velocity, makes a gun “accurate.” The whole reason autocockers are “more accurate,” is wives tails, and the fact in order to prevent rollouts…. you had to match the paint to the barrel. But we all already know this I know

in my experience, i couldnt get my empire sniper and ressurection to shoot more than 5ft. i tried boring the paint which shot good once or twice before it smashed paint in the breach. my local field is field paint only so i think the paint sizes was just too inconsistent

Autocockers had a reputation for being “more accurate” because they required a good paint to barrel match to prevent rollout.

wish they could get the camera BEHIND them and show the trajectory of the shot. From a physics perspective i find that hard to believe that the shot is flatter...

Sigh… accuracy has nothing to do with the marker. It’s all about the paint. Bore sizing for sure helps. But that’s not the marker either.

Been shooting a Cocker since 90, and for mech play, isn't anything better. Just had a thought to add to this... Smart Parts barrels were designed for the All Americans who used the Automag, an open bolt marker. Dye barrels were right there with J&J, and Lapco, for the closed bolt auto cocker? So why not have the Dye on the Cocker and the GOG on the 180?

We know that spin can affect ball flight. This is why the flat line works to some extent to alter the flight path. There for it stands to reason that a paintball can act like a baseball. With the right application of spin you could get a drop shot. A curved shot or a flat shot. I do think a tighter bore matched to GOOD paint will always yield a more accurate shot because there’s no blow by

That last statement would be true in a world where pb's are perfect spheres. Overboring is more accurate, but more inefficient as there's air escaping all around the pb rather than the imperfect spots, which ends up being more accurate.
