Although I already knew that the Schmidt-Rubin G11 rifle in 7.5x55 Swiss caliber is extremely accurate, I have missed some grouping tests. So finally here we are, adding also some points to the performance of the rifle and the GP11 cartridge.

I purchased this rifle because of you. Learning to reload the GP11 7.5×55 cartridges has been a tricky process, especially with the unique shape of the GP11's bullet. I only practice with original Swiss ammunition, however. It is a beautiful rifle, and shoots very well. I think I will stick to this one for a long while. Thank you for posting these videos, and I hope more folks adopt the Model of 1911 as their prefered Swiss target rifle!

The one I have reserved is a private sale of 1938, built 1900, refurbished 1907, restocked, in mint condition, all of 120 years old. That goes for 600€. But there are others that look like they have not been handled with care and go as low as 350€. I do not regret paying the higher price, I am getting something that will still look gourgeous in 50 years time.

The G11 rifle and the shooter are great shots! I have two Schmidt- Rubin rifles. One is Model 1889 and the other is the G11. The older Model 1889 has a quite large "B.S." carved into the butt stock. Both were well taken care of by the owner. These are great rifles and I'm fortunate to own both models.

This video has inspired me to get a G1911 rifle for my collection to go along side my K31 which has a troop tag under the buttplate. Also need to get a carding wheel and boil the buttplate due to the rust on it from poir storage. The trigger on my K31 is almost as good as my 1921-22 national match M1903 springfield.

I haven't tried it at long ranges, but the one I have is very accurate at 100 yards, a fun rifle to shoot. Always gets interest from other folks on the range. I have the correct muzzle cap and the bayonet for it also. The bayonet is interesting as it looks identical to the one used for the M1911 carbine, but the muzzle rings (inside diameter) are not the same and they won't interchange as I found out after buying one and having to return it!

Great video! By the way, as someone who bought a G11 here in Canada because of your video, I would highly recommend checking out an original Canadian Ross M-10 on your own time, if you can find one in your neck of the woods. I used to think the G11 was the smoothest straight-pull, but the Ross completely usurped it in my eyes, it feels like a knife through butter. The G11 was probably a better (and more successful) rifle in retrospect, though Anyways, köszi a klasz videóra, sok sikert!

@Bird_Dog00
@Bird_Dog00 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you are still interested in an answer, but since no-one else replied... I guess you mean G11. GP(19)11 is the cartridge. The G11 is the long rifle fielded in 1911. G stands for "Gewehr" generaly meaning "rifle", though it can refer to any long gun, with "Büchse" being the traditional specific term for a long gun with a rifled barrel. The K31 is the last of the swiss military bolt action guns. K standing for "Karabiner", "Carbine", as in a shortend version of the long rifle. It is shorter and lighter than the G11 (being about 20 centimeters (about 8 inches) shorter and roughly 500 gramms (about a pound) ligher). The main difference between the K31 and the K11, the cut down Karabiner version of the G11, is the reworked, much shorter bolt, with the locking luggs being right at the bolt face, giving it a very strong and stiff action. Thanks to this shorter bolt, the K31 has a about 5 centimeters longer barrel and sight radius despite the same overall lenght compared to the K11. There are also some inprovements in metallurgy and manufacturing techniques, making the K31 somewhat superior in a purely material way.
