The eldest Ko brother, Ko Pin-Yi faced “Robocop” Dennis Orcollo late in the 2016 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship.
Ko, 27, had just turned in a third place finish at the China Open two months prior to this event, while Orcollo, 37, had just swept the West Coast Challenge One Pocket and 10-Ball events. This was a rematch of their three day 10-Ball challenge match from earlier in the year, that was won by Orcollo.
Mark Wilson and Danny Diliberto called all of the action.

I am guessing Mark is one of the proponents of the “ Illegal “ break rule . Probably helped devise. I do not care for it,but of course it is a rule and players and spectators alike must abide; Until it is reversed. (Try a radar gun. Much more Fair.) Even the biggest, strongest, players do get “ illegal “ breaks. It’s really a random ball collision. (Do the women have the “ illegal break” ? ) On another subject. What’s with Some of Our commentator’s always referring the Taiwanese as Chinese. All of the Taiwanese I have ever spoke with or heard ,prefer to be referred to as from Taiwan. Can’t we at least give them that when they are here.? ( Wu is Chinese because he chose. He left Taiwan, Changed nationality. Now is Chinese. The Ko’s are Taiwanese. Sport , not sport, ????? Ask the Olympic Committee. ?????

I thought Ko's shot at the two-eight was a skid shot, a little backspin that changed to forward, but I guess not.

Why not just use a speed gun to determine the speed and power of the break, less than the minimum would be illegal.

Make 8 balls on the break 9 ball down table. FOUL! And why would you want someone to shoot if they weren't ready.TOOK the most exciting parts of this game, out of the game.ALLISON FISHER would have won every one of these tournament late 90,s.Whoever made these rules should never be aloud around pool again!

This is not a sport. It is a game and that is ok. These are not athletes, this requires no athletic movements or requirements. Exercising does not make you an athlete. Moving half of your arm in a back and forth motion is not athletic lol. It's ok to let it be a game. yes i have played in long tournaments. getting tired and walking around the table a lot does not make it a sport. chess players get tired from having to focus. doesn't make it a sport.

@@AccuStats that does not make something a sport. being an athlete makes something a sport. darts takes coordination. bowling takes coordination. there is nothing athletic about pool.

@@heginschristianstrong7707 It is a cue sports, Unless you're using some sort of telekinesis, then I would imagine you are physically bending over and using your arms to propel the balls around the table, That takes physical skill. Anyone in the world can learn to drive. Some are horrible at it, but they get the job done. No amount of driver training is going to turn you into Michael Schumacher. No amount of lessons or hours at the table is going to turn you into Reyes or Archer or Fischer or O'Sullivan... A sport is just a competitive match either between people or against yourself that you enjoy doing or watching. It's really that simple. Athletes are people who take everyday sports that you or I could do (basketball, pool, video games...) and take it to the next level. They make it their passion and livelihood. They take something that you may enjoy as a leisure activity and amaze you with where they can go. The F-ing Spelling Bee is on ESPN, and those kids are amazing...
