Maybe it's because I've watched SO much pool, but I can see the ball colors and I immediately know which set of balls they are using. So the colors never really bother me while watching cause I remember every set lol.

As a fussy, freeloading viewer, this has everything I like, thank you folks. Two first-rate players, in s reasonably long match, winner breaks, call shot/call safety, no early 10, intelligent commentary, sticking to the match at hand, and a dingle camera, elevated above the bottom rail, no annoying & confusing camera switching.

Mr. Dicks, I appreciate you explaining the path the cue ball will take in various situations. Example: 36:00 On object ball near-to-the-rail cuts depending on angle (45 degrees to 85 degrees or so), the cue ball will come off the rail at about 90 degrees. Thank you for your tips!

I’m back from the future, from 2099, and I have to say that this was one of the best matches from your era. In the years to come be wary of the laser cues and guys who pocket balls from their chair, I still don’t trust them. Be safe and stay masked during the pandemic of 2047. Even now days we still enjoy watching pool from the early century. Be well, pool junkies, be well…

Love the edits to the next break! Excellent commentary, too. I liked some of your tips, as well. Watching these guys pattern and execute is a thing of beauty. Ko looks like he plays about equally well either hand. As Danny would say, he's amphibious. Maybe Filler, Kazakis, Grabe, He, Immonen, MorraYapp, Corteza, and a few others. For very good and most fun to watch, now that Efren is pretty much gone except for one pocket, I would have to say Pagulayan for me...dude's a riot. Ko definitely made that 11th game harder than it had to be, but he's Ko, so he ran it out anyway. Man, I would have never thought to use the mirror system to hit a ball that far out, something to keep in mind. Rail first shots are the only place I use this. You forgot the third case, which is often me, you are in line and manage to get at least a bit out of line, way too often, on the next shot. and it snowballs from there. 😕 And I totally agree, these guys ability to be in crap shape to fine shape is one of their biggest advantages over a lesser player, that and REALLY knowing how to pattern a table for natural rolls RIGHT up the shot line, rarely having to cross it and come up with very accurate length to get good position to the next after that one. I actually think those, and successfully breaking well, which means completing AND having a workable first shot, are a large part of the difference in percentage run or successfully safed at some point. And it's not just doing that, but the ridiculous percentage of strikes that they do that. Rock right, potting is literally easy. And the game gets made harder and harder, like the breaking boxes and legality rules now, and jumping rules, and pocket configurations, a trend which most of the pros seem to like. I'm not too sure that makes viewing more fun to the un, or under initiated, but it does for someone that at least understands something. My favorite is an excellent safety battle, which I'm fairly sure is world class boring to people that understand very little about how to play. That is even more interesting when there is little to hide behind, making execution very much more difficult. Seems to me one aspect where these guys at this level REALLY shine, basically snooker on a pool table, where you need the extra points.

I love the idea of events where the players dress nice (a la snooker's premiere events), events where they wear their sport jersey/black slack style and also events like this where they are welcome to dress completely casual and comfortable. Has a little more of a pool hall feel. Good stuff.

Well you asked lol here’s my list of elites and or almost there; Shane, Filler, both Ko brothers, many haven’t heard of him but Anton Raga is freaking fenomenal, Carlo Biado, Yapp when he’s in form, Roland Garcia, hek what the Spaniard did in the World Cup doubles he has to be named Ruiz more so than David now, Skyler..such a fun player to watch just wish he could find top focus and stay there, I mean just so many, Fedor, Wiktor Zielinski will be a force to recon with such a young talent, can’t fail mentioning Shaw, Melling, Al-Shaheem, Albin , too many great players Kaci i have to say one of the fastest improving players without doubt, I remember first timer seeing him play I think in Las Vegas tournament against Efren the GOAT long story short Kaci was in slippers and a wind breaker I was thinking who is this disrespectful guy here haha came to play the great like this. ( needless to say Efren plays like this all the time just not at events like this one Kaci!) He’s Come a long way! Anyway Great commentary sir! Would love if SVB and KPY were wearing pulse monitoring bracelets during this match, as I saw in a recent match between SVB and alcaide. Interestingly, for both, heart rate was MUCH higher when sitting and watching, rather than during their turn at the table. At times up to 2x higher when seated. Shane's HR even went into tachycardic territory at times while seated. But KPY, for all his constant adjustments and recalibrations, appears perpetually relaxed. Truly inspiring.

How come you did not include the date of this match along with the information of who was playing and commenting on it? It seems to me that including this information is trivial. This is a consistent laziness by almost all people posting pool games. Yet, truly understand what's going on We need to know when a game was played so we can judge at what point in their life the players were at. For example, the GOAT, Ephraim Reyes, played differently in the '80s than he did in the '90s then he did in the 2000s then he did in the '10s then he did in the '20s. Not to include this information is to do your viewers a disservice. Since you asked: I am watching in the US on the west coast (San Francisco). It's Saturday afternoon, 4 June 2022. I'm basically a shut-in as I need the wheelchair to get around and there's only so far I can go in my electric chair. Can't do anything spontaneous like decide to go watch this at a sports bar because I would need to decide to do that 48 hours in advance giving them at least 16 business hours to arrange the transport.

Just a "little" misleading? I'd say "a lot". The Van Boening vs Immonen match, just a few weeks earlier in the World 9-Ball Champion ship that the commentator refers to, had fantastic play by both players, much more drama and tension. This was a good match, but certainly nothing extra special.
