That heavy ass right hand of his banging out chords had a distinction that was unparalleled. He was a brilliant player -- a minimalist only because he wanted to. Listen to his lead guitar solo on "You Ain't Got A Hold on Me," the lead solo duel in "Soul Stripper" (Malcolm starts, then Angus, then Mal again, etc), or his solo past the 3:00 mark on "Show Business." He was every bit the lead player as his brother (more so, according to Angus' own words). He had a discipline and devotion rivaled only by Phil Rudd's drumming.

+Ronnie Pickering Brian's voice is stained and smoke-filled, not evil. He tries to be Bon, but it looks like shit. Bon had clearer and more powerful voice especially on live performances, and he looked very badass, while Brian looks like a curly smoking taxi driver. AC/DC was badass before Bon died, now it simply uses their powerful riffs from Angus. Kids now listen to only Brian's AC/DC (overrated songs such as thunderstruck, bib, hells bells) and highway to hell song. But you can see great song above, it's so underrated as others Bon's albums. And these people talk about how ACDC and Brian are great together. Jeez..

The more I look into AC/DC the more I respect Malcolm as a player. Never realized he was the one doing the main riff, although it makes sense I never realized it. So underrated.
@johnnycoolguy95542 жыл бұрын
Malcolm Young's biggest weakness was writing riffs so solid that they were taken for granted. Not flashy like Jimmy Page, just very fundamental and raw. His legacy is very much like Steve Wozniak to Angus' Steve Jobs. Without the whole drama and deceit.

How the hell does he play guitar like he does...never missing a single freakin' note...while doing that insane head bobbing????? I watched concert video of them, and he broke a string...and changed the string, right on stage, and STILL didn't miss a single note! HOW THE HELL DID HE DO IT?!?!?! Oh wait...it's Angus I'm talking about here. Sorry. Wasn't he the ORIGINAL head banger?....the one everyone else wanted to be like? Nope. There's only ONE Angus Young. Accept NO substitutes.
