I've gotta say, I really love Investigations for the way it favours a wide-scale plot rather than a personal one - the previous games all had very personal storylines that were largely focused on the central characters, and they were all great, but I was glad that this game did it differently for a change. So the same kind of thing goes for Alba - I definitely wouldn't say he's the BEST of the AA villains, but he's by far the biggest and most 'grandiose', making him one of the most memorable.

In the sequel, they partially keep the plot wide scale with the whole fake presidential assassination attempt and Cohdopia, however there’s also the personal element and reoccurring theme of fathers (or more broadly, parental figures). Also funnily enough the mastermind is the LEAST “grandiose” of them all, being some clown who sent some letters and trampled a fake president.

@@s_solus3089 I agree, in that I personally try to avoid videos (music included) of games - especially story-driven ones like RPGs - I’m hoping to play soon (I say “soon” because if it’s something I’m gonna play 1 or 2 years down the line, I know I’ll have forgotten practically the titles by then). The problem is that KZbin’s “recommended” feed makes this more difficult than it should be (people have been complaining about this for years), and that nowadays a lot of people stumble on & listen to songs from artists/soundtracks they’re not familiar with just while looking for music to listen to (e.g. via YT’s “similar mixes” - I’ve discovered countless new bands & OSTs through that). And yeah, this is all kind of nitpicky, I’m well aware, but it takes very little effort to write song names without spoilers in them. Take Xenoblade 2; that’s a *very* story-driven game, with a huge soundtrack to boot, yet I can’t think of any major spoilers in the titles on its OST.

To be fair, most of the time he had more or less valid reasons for staying behind: first testimony was to save his public face after even other country ambassador asked him to stay, the second testimony was to get his hands on evidence that could possibly ruin him, and most other ones was because Lang stripped his defences away. Basically, Alba actually *_NEEDED_* to stay behind untill the end, because Lang had all the authority to arrest him as possible suspect if there was even slightest possible route to get him. Meaning that Alba had to reach a point where he could said "Your previous arguments are insufficient to indict me, but you can't produce more, meaning you don't have enough ground to both suspect and arrest me. NOW i can go away without any trouble". But as soon as somebody screams "objection", a new argument surfaces, thus - giving Lang a chance to arrest him untill further notice. Meaning Alba must stay behind to fight a new reasoning, or he will be arrested anyway. Well, that *and* the extraterrestrial rights.

As far as we know, this is the oldest character in the entire Ace Attorney franchise (the Judge and Oldbag are still unknown), and they say that with age comes with wisdom. Phoenix had a defendant that was almost undeniably guilty, a defense attorney's breaking point, and this White Oak of a man is Edgeworth's: someone who just can't be legally touched. Edit: I have been informed that Alba is actually the SECOND oldest, with Bruto Cadaverini winning by ~6 years, although we’ve never seen him in person. Would be cool if we met him, or his beloved granddaughter again.

He has no redeeming quality unlike all the others before him who were at least human. But he also pretty much has no weakness. This is a guy you just coudnt beat alone, it took the other ambassador, all of interpol, Franziska, Gumshoe and Kay helping you to finally get him, victory would have been absolutely impossible otherwise.

Imagine if it's you. You have to go to the bathroom. You accidentally saw some writings on a white board. A corpse nearby that has nothing to do with you somehow spilled their blood on a hotdog pack. The odds may stack against you for being guilty, but if you're innocent, you still have the right to fight for it. All of these are plausible. This is why we need lawyers.
