@@PatriciaEsposito-i8u True. Tommy and Eric were not there in the beginning. But they were always there until the end. They worked instead of Ace and Peter and kept their contribution in KISS alive. Tommy and Eric wore the original make-up to show: We are working for KISS, because those guys can't work anymore. But we represent them. Like Rock soldiers 🪖we wear the same uniforms. Ace and Peter, though less steady and reliable than Gene and Paul, both seemed to be born to play their respective instruments. It took longer to encourage Peter to write. But starting on Destroyer, write he did with Beth. Ace was writing since their debut, with Cold Gin. Ace had to be coaxed to sing lead vocals. He finally did sing lead with Shock Me on 1977’s Love Gun. The thing with some of these bands is once they think outside the box, they sometimes expect more in the future. I think the solo albums idea was a great one, which unfortunately was more the “writing on the wall” for Ace and Peter. Paul and Gene were the chief songwriters and lead singers by nature. And since they stayed in the band longer, that may be why when Ace and Peter’s names are mentioned, they each say “Sorry but we gave both of them more than one chance!” That’s not to say Kiss was the same when Peter left, then Ace. It wasn’t.

It's no use in using trivialities. Of course KISS was not the same when Peter left, then Ace. But The Rolling Stones were not the same either, when they fired Brian Jones. They became better. For many fans KISS became better in the 80s.

IMO "Destroyer" is their worse studio album from the original four members. I'm NOT a fan of Bob Ezrin. I didn't like Destroyer and I didn't like "Music From The Elder. I liked a few songs from Destroyer but Bob rejected nearly everything Kiss brought to the studio. Lucky for Kiss that their song Beth hit the charts. Because the album Destroyer wasn't selling as well as they anticipated. Eddie Kramer was called in to record "Rock N Roll Over" and all the original tunes that made it onto that album was rejected by Bob. IMO the song "Beth" sounded the best when Kiss performed that "Live" on their MTV Unplugged show. I did love several tunes from Destroyer though. God Of Thunder, Sweet Pain, Do You Love Me & Shout It Out Loud. I liked every song on Rock N Roll Over with the exception of "See You In Your Dreams" I didn't hate it, but it's the only weak link. "Love Gun was great except for "And Then She Kissed Me. that one sucked ass! IMO. Ace's solo's on every song that he played on fit the tunes perfectly. I even prefer his version of Eddie Van Halen's solo on "Christine Sixteen" But many people never heard Eddie's version. But it's on YT for those that care to hear it. Thanks for the killer video. I subscribed.

@@OnyxJaguar My favorite song from "Destroyer" is "Sweet Pain" The only version of "Beth" I like is on the "Unplugged" concert. Ace played an amazing solo. Side 4 of "Alive-2" has three treasures on it. "All American Man & "Larger Than Life" and of course "Rocket Ride" Outside of those three songs, I'm not a fan of that album. It just feels like they stifled Ace's solo's on that album.
