Your number one is KISS’s best song that nobody (other than real KISS fans) knows about. I thought “The Oath” would make the list. The best bass line of any KISS song has to be “Torpedo Girl” off Unmasked.

I don't understand how Aces solo on strange ways isn't one of the most renowned guitar solos in rock history. Hotter than hell album, last song strange ways, the heaviest guitar solo I've ever heard in my life still to this day!

Dude, I think the same thing all the time. It was The most "Space Ace" solo there was, in fact its the only solo I can think of where he uses heavy sound effects. It would have been really interesting to see what would have happened if he had played around with way more trippy sound effects during his carrier, making Ace more "Spacey"

Great album. The best of the first three studio albums for sure. Strangely so since it sorta has all the B-list songs on it. But they got the attitude right on that one. And the beginning of that solo... man, is he hungry! I also really dig his solos on Going Blind and All The Way.

Frehley is why I play guitar. I was born early 90s so I got into KISS in the mid 00's and was blown away. My only tattoo is an outline of Ace's makeup. I've seen KISS 3 times and Ace's solo gig twice. I was a few feet from Tommy during most of the last time I saw KISS.

KISS was like the advent of electricity. They changed everything. Afterwards, lots of bands attempted to emulate them. With no internet, they still exploded. There's no parallel example nowadays, it was a phenomenon. The only thing they weren't on was Sesame Street!

The "Sound" of Kiss guitars! Listening to alive years later and it's the sound of their unfiltered raw distortion that lights up the room.⚡. Marshall amps turned to 10 in contrast to the softer sound textures of the times. I feel like it was the sound of the electricity in their riffs itself that inspired them to look like that raw electricity and cosmic phenomenon. People focus on their looks, but it was the sheer brilliance of the sound! Ace has an approach to guitar solos that blows your mind! Paul Stanley's solo album was my first record in 1979. His voice is the soul of rock and roll for Me! Glad I saw them in 2014, perfect! Gene on Bass and Peter on Drums, that's the real thrill, the 1977 concert film , that's the look! 🤩

Rocket ride, and Shock me were the best songs Ace performed as Kiss "corporation" songs. Aces solo album was full of hits. Ace and Peter Criss were the rockers in Kiss, when Ace left or was fired? he took all the magic with him. I remember Ace in a good way, hopefully their is another reunion of Kiss. Ace needs to decline the invitation, no need to see him thrown under the bus another time.

It's sad that so many people disparage Kiss just because they aren't virtuoso musicians. Now, it's true that they are far from being virtuosos, but the thing is: _you don't have to be a virtuoso to create great music._ How I would have loved to have an iota of their creativity to come up with such great riffs (I'm a professional bass player). I stopped being a die-hard fan many years ago (still love them and have their entire official discography minus unnecessary compilations), but they were a true (and the biggest) obsession for me during the first half of my adolescence. After 40+ years, "Alive!" is still one of my top two live rock albums. Words aren't enough to describe what I felt the first time I heard it.

Look at the cast of virtuosos out there. They don't usually make catchy riffs. They make music to complicated for mass appeal. That's cool but music you can hum and sing along to with a catchy chorus is what people gravitate towards. Kiss had really catchy songs and they aren't overly complicated.....and they are fun which you get zero of these days aside from Steel Panther....who are awesome by the way.

Awesome job Metal Dad. So much fun. Nice sounding rig . When I was real young I had a L. P. Copy so I could pretend I was Ace. I get a like. Rock on.

Great job Metal Dad. For me 10 KISS riffs are not enough. Number one for me has to be Black Diamond.

Always been a huge kiss fan. I've been to 10 kiss concerts and my last ones were the reunion tour and the farewell tour. And as far as ever going to the end of the road tour that is not going to happen only if Ace and Peter were there. I'm sure Peter don't have it like it used to because he is getting old to keep up on the drums but I'm sure he would give it one hell of a try. I started listening to kiss when I was 16 and 61 now and still jamming with kiss.

Rip it out was definitely the best song out of any solo album IMO. One of my favorite songs to play on guitar as well 🤘🤘 however as far as the 80s go, a million to one, is one of my favorites as well.

I was inspired to pick up the guitar by Ace Frehley in 1977 when I was 5. My favorite riff is "Shock Me", and that's also my favorite Ace solo as well. I gotta say though, "Mr. Speed" is right up there too. My mom is a musician also, and when I was 9, I walked home from school, and as I approached the house, my mom was playing her acoustic guitar on the porch. As I got closer and heard what she was playing, I discovered at that moment my mom had been listening to my KISS records. She was playing "Hard Luck Woman" from Rock and Roll Over.

Don't like that you didn't include Black Diamond, but the video was cool, and I just subscribed. I'm 60 years old and I've seen kiss way back in 77 my first Kiss concert at Hartford civic center. I even caught an ace guitar pick I still got it lol.

Good choice of Kiss riffs. Good to see you are playing riffs that are your actual favorites rather than playing riffs that might appease the masses. Great show.

I gotta say, Unholy, Shock Me, I Stole Your Love, and Cold Gin have some of the coolest riffs I've ever heard. Some of my absolute favorites. Much respect on including Mr. Speed in your list! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
