Wow, this actually amazes me a bit. Majority of laptops now really only let you upgrade the ram, like my previous Lenovo laptop and brands like HP and ASUS in my experience in the last 10ish years., probably as a way to get you to buy a new shiny laptop when the old one bites the dust. The fact Acer acknoledges that people are gonna want to upgrade or replace certain parts like the battery or the SSD, is gonna keep them as a top company if they play their cards right. Yeah maybe they wont make as much money from people needing brand new laptops, but they will definetely have return customers once the laptop in question does bite the dust for good plus how they have a shop for extra accesories if you need it.

What model of the Aspire 5 is this one???? A515-????? there are a lot of different models, I have a -43 which looks similar but mine has 2 memory slots. the latest model is a A515-57 & 57G

I have Aspire 1, 115-31 want to upgrade it but i cant see where to connect my hard drive but there`s a place for hard drive i just don`t see where i can connect.

Hey so if i want to upgrade my RAM do i need to remove the 4gb which are not soldered or do i have one more slot available for a third stick? Im asking because if i cant have 3 sticks (one soldered) then i wont have dual channel anymore so my perfomance wont increase that much right ?

Is it better to match the same amount of ram as the soldered ram so it can run it dual Chanel mode or should I just get a 16gb ram ? This is my dilemma I’m just trying to get it to run the best it can

Just a question, but my model has two ram slots so that this mean that my model is able to process dual channel better then others, and would it be worth it to upgrade both slots to 16gb each?

I see many people saying that one should always disconnect the battery before doing anything. I tried to disconnect it but it won't seem to budge. Is it fine if I do not disconnect ithe battery as long as I make sure that I shut off my laptop? I have the same laptop model. Planning to upgrade RAM.

The plug for the battery is really firmly placed, you need to use an uncomfortable amount of force. I've got an acer aspire 5 and when I was taking the battery out to test something it required me to pull slowly to not break anything.

You have already probably done it but yes. Although you can do it with the battery connected it's not recommended.
