I just put in a 3070 just the way you did on the same computer. Works fine, Benchmarking around 2-2.5 times as previous 1660 super. But in games i dont see that big improvement.

Depending on the settings, it should be an improvement. Use Display Driver uninstall to uninstall the drivers and redownload the Nvidia driver. Unless you did not update them. Using DDU has to be done in the safe mode and a quick Google and snap a shot on your phone and hold win Key plus shift and restart your PC. This will open up the options to enter safe mode. make sure you have downloaded DDU from Guru3d before you go to safe mode. due to the network drivers being disabled

Thanks for the response! I have come to the conclusion that in some games, the cpu is bottlenecking. I5 10400f is not optimal 😅.

What is the reason for splitting a 6 pin to two 8 pins instead of running on 8 pin directly and getting a 6 to 8 adapter for the other? Wouldn't the latter put a more even load on the PSU and the cables?

@@TNW1337 When you are using a 6 pin to 2x8 splitter, you are pulling appr. 160W out of the PSU through 6 wires, isn't it so? If you instead run the 6+2 from the PSU directly to the GPU and then use a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter for the other 8 pins, the GPU needs, you would be pulling the same watteage through 14 wires going out of the PSU. That would lead to less power going through each wire. I'm sure your way of doing it is safe after the testing you have done. I'm just trying to understand pros and cons of different wiring methods.

i just bought a exact same setupo I am confused with one part. ON that power cable you have a female 6 pin or 8 pin. how did you put 6 pin female in 8 pin power supply. and did you use all 8+8 pins in graphic card, i think i saw you left 2 open on both side.

I own this pc and I honestly love it but wanna do a few changes I'm wondering would changing everything over to a different case help me with upgrades in the future? You can, but you'll need a 24 pin to 6 pin adapter COMEAP on Amazon. You'll need to manually switch off the PSU after every shut down however. Someone else posted about this but they didn't turn off the PSU manually and it fried their GPU.

Then you just swing the door open, you'll be just fine trust your self. it is very hard to screw a pc up unless your Linus tech tips

I have acer nitro 50-610 model D19W6 can I still upgrade to a rtx 3070 If I have 500 watts of power supply or whatever it has. OR Should I upgrade my power supply to a 650 watt and then install an rtx 3070 zotac? Because nvidia recommends that an rtx 3070 will need a 650 power supply. I think 650 watt Atx will fit and be good to go for it right?

The acer will support a 3070 with the 500w. One thing just do not Overclock it.

Hey man, my Nitro 50 640 PSU is making a constant Clicking Noise when the PC is OFF. Tick tick tick tick tick tick” all separately almost evenly. Do I need to get a new power supply? Would the i5 11400f not bottleneck with RTX 3050? I have a GTX 1650 and my cpu bottlenecks only in Fortnite while my gpu don’t use a lot of usage while playing it but on other games it fully uses it

@@yt-hermes-gaming3175 it’s the best 😂. I ended up going with a 3070 OC edition with 3 fans. Idk how I managed to fit it in this pc. And don’t worry I’m not using the OC setting and it’s undervolted so it doesn’t stress out the 500w psu.

Are you happy with the results? I went from 1660 super to 3070 oc as well. Benchmark big improvement but in games not so much :(.

@@BojaNN2 yeah it was a huge upgrade. I went from 1650 to the 3070 oc. 1080p @60ish fps on medium is what I used to get now I’m getting 1440 @100+ fps on high settings or 4K @60-100 depending on the settings and game.
