Why can't all monitor reviews be like this? Honest from a gamers point of view, covered all the topics I cared about, gave an alternative upgrade solution. The only thing I would say is missing is a UFO test with a sliding camera pan so we could see the ghosting issues better.

Ha, glad you liked it! Have thought about the UFO tests but in two minds about them; if I can do it consistently I will, but when I last tried I couldn't get consistent images and wasn't really happy with it vs actually showing gameplay that showcases ghosting (ie real-world) vs a test :)

Awesome review! I had decided to go for this Acer for Counter Strike (and CS only, pretty much), but your conclusion made me think twice. I don't have the Asus 240hz available in Brazil. I am also not a CSGO pro, but I am engaging some amateur competitions lately, and therefore I was considering going for a 240hz. Would you still recommend a 144hz IPS instead of this one in this case? Thank you in advance and congrats for the great job!

Thanks, glad you liked it! To be honest, I'd suggest a class-leading 1440p 144hz IPS to a lot of people (myself included) - unless you're a hardcore comp gamer and only care about games like CS or Valorant, then a 240hz will be for you. Just bear in mind though, the 144hz monitors do have to be excellent though; namely in response time and input lag. So feel ree to list a few options you have in Brazil in here and I can let you know if I've tried them - ones int he description, including the BenQ EX2780Q are the ones I'd always suggest

I have the GZ model, and It locks overdrive at Normal with Adaptive Sync on... So if I don't want overshoot, I have to play with the adaptive sync off. It's an incredibly versatile monitor otherwise, but why enforce this? It's so stupid.

Only the Asus in the description. The rest, I've either not tried, or wouldn't buy. There's no reason for a casual player (let alone hardcore in most situations) to actually get a 240hz.

Hello again! I would like to know if you happen to be using an HDMI to DisplayPort. I finally got around getting a new cable so I could utilize the max HZ. I specifically bought an HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 as my laptop doesn't have a port for DisplayPort. Unfortunately, the screen only shows "No Signal" when using the new cable. I made sure the Input setting is set to DP (as shown in the timestamp 5:12), performed a power cycle on both my laptop and monitor, and updated all my Display Adapters drivers to their latest versions. Sadly, none of these worked. Thank you!

The XV isn't the same as the XB, there are two different panels. The Acer you've ordered seems great, far superior to the XB253QGX in terms of input lag and response time. However, given you have the Asus, I have no idea why you'd be seeking to get the Nitro.

@@TotallydubbedHD I know it's a strange idea to buy the same panel, but only from Acer :D, but I trying to find the most lowest input lag panel and according to tftcentral it's xv273x. Also I use Vg279qm in stock mode with 240hz and 60OD, idk why but in CS GO I had the best results with these settings, not with 280 and OD80 and expecting that stock mode will be better on xv273x. There is also screenshot of input lag from blurbusters enthusiast prnt.sc/xdznva , idk why, but according to his measurements he ranked XB253QGX as one of the lowest input lag panel.

@@sk1pCSGOchannel it could very well be, but you're not going to notice a 0.3ms difference. It could even be that the two panels (Acer and Asus) are using the exact same panel too. Take it from a competitive CSGO gamer, your Asus is among the best panels out there for hardcore gaming.

Probably, I will just get xv273x for the test and then return to the shop, I understand that 0.3ms difference should be negligible, but also read many comments on blurbusters that Acer tunes their panels the best in connection with input lag and all IPS 240hz Acers have the lowest input lag. If you interested I can send a conclusion of my test here, it will be on monday.(and sorry for my bad english cause is not native :D)

Great video! I'm a bit confused, because I've owned this monitor for 1.5 years now and apparently was using it without gsync all the time. You need to have adaptive sync enabled for gsync to be available right? And when do you want to have gsync enabled at all? I would really appreciate an answer.

That's correct. As for if you should have it enabled or not, depends on the game you're playing. Hardcore competitive, no - as you don't want to limit your frames. For everything else, yes.

Ps5 is complicated, many 1080p monitors support 144hz over hdmi but not 120hz, and then it will not work on Ps5 in 120 fps. This Acer however is one of the few that has 1080p/120 in its standard timing table, no guarantee but it has better chance of being compatible then. Also, ps5 require hdmi2.0 for it to work in 120hz, lots of 1080p/144hz monitors has hdmi 1.4 but this has 2.0, so again its possible. You may need to enter the monitors settings and disable special stuff like g-sync, maybe even hdr, and possibly other things. Same with ps5 settings, and in the end MAYBE it will work.

@@TotallydubbedHD thats all wrong. 4k/120 on ps4 is real but its obviously rendered in lower res and upscaled to 4k. Still quite impressive though. Majority of 144hz monitors will not work on ps5 in 120fps because of their standard timing table and hdmi1.4.

I currently have the possibility to get one of these at an extremely cheap price (like almost 200$ less than your Asus recommendation). However I currently run an AMD GPU and the datasheets on this monitor are very confusing regarding FreeSync. Most only mention it being "G-Sync compatible" with no mention of FreeSync. I always thought "G-Sync compatible" implies a FreeSync unit that works with G-Sync. You only mention G-Sync in the respective part of the video as well. Can you shed any light on its FreeSync capabilities?
