that song was written for patsy cline, but she died in a plane crash before she ever got to sing it. it was never sung by anyone till somebody saw leann at a talent contest

She was only thirteen when she recorded this, and judging from the video she wasn’t much older, maybe fourteen or fifteen. Yes, that’s yodeling and takes a lot of vocal control.

Yes, that's yodeling, but she never had any professional vocal training. It's, pretty much, automatic for us, Southerners---like, a rite of passage, if you will---to learn yodeling, and comes naturally, for us. Suggestion: Always react to the official videos, for Country music singers, unless otherwise requested, because Country music is all sbout story-telling, and Country music singers make fabulous videos---the visual adds, so much!!! I really enjoyed your reaction/appreciation of this song/her performance!!!

I don't think she sings this as well as Pasty Cline. Her yodel is not as refined. She put's a little extra at the end of each that doesn't sound just right to me.
