“ All the women gonna make me teach them what they don’t know how.” Risqué for back in the day

There will never be another June Carter and Johnny Cash. They were just awesome. Young kids today should listen to how they sing. Teach em what they don't know how. Great choice!

This is the Johnny Cash we saw on his TV show in the 70s, love that Johnny. June was his for 35 years when she passed. She’s the one that’s featured in the video of his song Hurt 💝

I live here in Jackson Tennessee....the town they are singing about.Home of Carl Perkins who Johnny mentions in the opening. Also home to Johnny's drummer WS Holland. I'm 68 now and can remember seeing Johnny and Carl singing in WS's garage when I was little.

I'm from Jackson, MS. We know it's about Jackson, Tennessee, but when Johnny Cash played our city, he sang it to us like it was our town.😁

June is country music royalty. Johnny actually grew up listening to HER and her family on the radio. Her mom, Mother Maybelle Carter was actually pivotal in the way guitar is played today. Also June is the one who wrote “ring of fire”

Johnny and June released their version in early 1967 and later that year Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra(Frank's daughter) released their version. I think Cash's version topped country charts and hit number 1 while Hazelwood's version charted on the pop billboard but never reached number one. For the Cash's, it became a signature song for them when they performed together.Their cover is what is played most often and I think is the one most preferred.

Nice! TV show humor could be very corny back when, especially on shows that featured country music. The info beneath the clip says this appearance is from the Ralph Emery Show and broadcast in 1967. My guess is that they were lip syncing the song and he played the guitar differently because he was faking it. Johnny Cash got his own show in 1969 and it ran for two seasons. He showcased country music for the most part, but he also hosted folk rockers including Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, and James Taylor, as well as other musicians such as jazz great Louis Armstrong in one of his last public performances. For me "Jackson" is one of the best tracks on his comeback album Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison, which was recorded at Folsom State Prison in Folsom, California in early 1968. Although "Jackson" is a cover, the story it tells mirrors the feelings they had for each other and Johnny Cash and June Carter got married in 1968. June Carter was the daughter of Maybelle Carter of the Carter Family. She began performing with the Carter Family at the age of 10 and later formed a side group with her sisters and her mother. She played the autoharp and was the front person and often provided the comedic relief. The "Where's Johnny" bit at the beginning of that clip was in line with her sort of comedy. When you're ready for more from Johnny Cash also check out "Orange Blossom Special", "I've Been Everywhere", "The Long Black Veil", "God's Gonna Cut You Down", and "Green, Green Grass of Home".

Don't get me wrong because I am a huge Johnny Cash fan but....to be honest he wasn't that great of a singer. I'll take the heat for you 😂 But he had some great songs and people love him.
