THIS kind of Reaction is why I subscribed to you..... "You 'GET IT'!". This is some of the music I grew up on.... and seeing a much younger person who "gets it", is very refreshing!

They rotate the lead vocal duties among them, which is one of the things that gave them a particularly distinctive sound.

Yes, a utopian society of legend. There have been movies made with the same theme, although the titles escape my memory ATM.

"Easy to be Hard" next. Chuck Negron (with the mustache) really kills the vocals.

As you see Three Dog Night was not you average rock band, blending many different styles of music into feel good songs.

Great Reaction! Thanks! This band was the first concert I ever attended. In 1974 I was a Freshman in High School. My older brother bought tickets to see them and bought me one as a birthday present. They were fantastic. I'll never forget it.

Whenever I recommend this song I tell folks that no matter what mood you're in when it starts, it will be at least ten notches higher when it's over. The studio version is even more dynamic!!🧓🎭🎸💖

I like the studio version. Just cleaner sounding with better harmony

Nice! "Shambala" topped the charts in 1973. I was still a little kid but I remember hearing it on the AM pop radio station my parents listened to. That chorus stood out even back then. "Shambala", in case you were wondering, is the name of a mythical utopia, like Shangri-La, Arcadia, Avalon, El Dorado and other fictions.

This rocks. I saw them in concert just a few years ago and they are as magnificent as ever. You'd do well to seek out their other songs.

I go way back on this one. First time hearing was a summer at a public pool in the south when it came out. This song and "One" had me hooked from that moment on. ❤

TDN is a great band from the late '60s/early '70s with several hits. My favorites are "One" & "Black & White" both have deeper meanings in the lyrics. The first is about loneliness & the second racial equality.

Do you know what a three dog night is? When you need not just one or two dogs in bed with you to keep you warm it's a three dog night because it's really cold! Please do "An Old-Fashioned Love Song" by them next!

It's a must to react to the live versions of, Old Fashioned Love Song. Never Been To Spain. Black And White. Family Of Man. The one in the red, white and blue shirt, Danny is so funny. Love this group. And the other Eli's Coming. It's so much better.

One my favorites from the band! I tend to like some of the more spiritual and philosophical songs. (Shambala, if you don't know, is an Eastern paradise.) Is the only hit by the band you haven't covered "Black and White" ...? I would say "Shambala" is better, but B&W was a solid radio hit.

Sweet, Ace! I knew your good taste would lead to you enjoying this. Hey, you hit that high note, bro. You'll also enjoy the studio version for improved audio quality. These guys had fun with their music, which is refreshing. Also,, I can easily see you in '70s clothes -- big lapels, bell-bottoms. Great reaction!

Very slick cover band. They had good musicians and the 3 could sing. They were capable of being very good live, but unfortunately, they phoned it in on a lot of performances. And the studio versions are difficult to upload.

You picked the right venue....don't listen to the studio version people. You gotta see people perform, and their passion. If you use this same venue with Cory Wells singing Try A Little Tenderness, you will love it. It is better than Otis Redding....
