Mega Swampert is what happens when Swampert does a fusion dance with Conkeldurr and Machamp.I mean: - Really muscular arms - Machamps ‘hair’ - Conkeldurr’s lack of legs Also, Swampert looks more like a mudskipper to me.

From a battle point of view, Mega Swampert is obviously better, but from a design point of view, I prefer regular Swampert. I'm not a huge fan of the steroid look that the Mega has.

The problem with Mega Swampert is that it's original design was meant to show it's powerful hind/back legs. The Mega increased the bulk, giving it an unnatural view to it. Also, for a team of 6, I would rather have a Swampert than waste a mega for Mega Swampert.

You know, I think you view the abilities that boost power when you are weakened wrongly. It's not that you WANT to be less than half hp... but that once you reach there, you have something that would help you at least take down one more enemy.... I mean, whether you want it or not, it's likely for your Pokemon to reach that point eventually...

Also I prefer Classic Swampert, I had no idea what to expect from my adorable little blue Starter in Sapphire but good times were had! Appearance wise, I like regular Swampert better, but using Mega Swampert on rain teams is so much fun; you can just tear through the other team. The only problem is, it's not as useful as the regular form unless it's raining.

Swampert is my secound favourite pokemon, right after Absol. It's my first ever starter and I always loved it. I was a bit disappointed by it's mega, it doesn't really look cool to me at all. I always remembered Swampert as a super-strong, but somewhat agile monster. It has terrible speed, but it's gen 3 sprite made it look like that to me. ;) So for nostalgic and design reasons, I'll always pick regular Swampert.

I would definetly pick Mega Swampert any day, a better 'mon in generaly everything. But, I like how big its muscles get when Swampert mega evolves. Like its original form is when you start workingout and then we got to its mega evolution, which is basically after a year of workingout (With help from stetroids ofcourse)

I prefer regular Swampert because their bulk while is significantly different just about evens out with leftovers. I like a defensive spread on this mon a lot because of it's amazing typing and the ability to get reliable stealth rocks. Now with regards to ability, if I don't specifically run a rain team then even Mega technically doesn't have an ability either. Counting on my opponent to bring rain is simply not a consistent strategy.

Mega swampert should weigh double what it weighs; I mean 6'3 225? that's slim even for a human of that height. I say 450 atleast since Eddie Hall was around 440 at his biggest & this thing is atleast as big as he was back then. Or they should change it to 225 kg instead of pounds

Mega swampert is just a fast attacker with good bulk. Reg swampert is effectively tankier with leftovers and investmen. Mega swamp is always 252 attack 252 speed so its not as tanky as reg.

Heya Liam! How's it going? Without looking at the stats, I'm gonna go with mega Swampert because, as usual, the Mega form is usually superior in all ways to the base form. Also, I kinda like how Mega Swampert looks. It's kinda buff and bulked up but in a comical way that I think plays well to its overall design and just makes it look more like a bulldozer of a pokemon. I would love to have a wall of Mega Swamperts defending a bunch of Mega Blastoise shooting over top! Modern Poke-Phalanx right there :) Given their typings are the same I'm still inclined to go with Mega Swampert, and looking at their stats, I'm still inclined to go with Mega Swampert because all of the numbers are just bigger. -Squints- Did you forget to put an 'E' in front of 'Explosion' when putting up the Damp description for Swampert? :P I would have accepted capitalizing the X as well. [...watches the fight...] Whelp, you can't argue with the Metronome :/ I mean, you can, but it's sort of pointless isn't it? Congrats Swampert for being the victorious underdog! Normal Swampert has probably the best stat spread and typing of any starter, its only held back by bad speed and disappointing abilities. Like Blaziken it arguably didn't need a mega it was already so good.

I realize this video is old, but I figure I may as well throw it in there anyway since Swampert is my favorite starter. I prefer the original, if for nothing more than it doesn't lock you into a rain team. Curse and Avalanche are a great combo imo, and it has sustain through leftovers, and while this may not be amazing because of grass types and grass coverage, chances are you aren't setting Mega Swampert up either, so even if its faster and has better base stats, it's probably not one shotting its way through the enemy team regardless. Granted, I will say that I like its design, but I feel they could have done something better with its ability that didn't basically restrict it to a weather team, like how Mega Blaziken and Sceptile can fit on plenty of compositions since their abilities are just good in a universal sense rather than a situational one.
