Achieving everything in Team Fortress 2 is not a simple endeavor. First, you need to be clinically insane. Second, you're going to need more cash than Gabe Newell himself. And finally, if you get both those things down, you better hope you live a very, very long life, because you're going to need all the time you can get to accomplish this challenge. But at least you can own a whole lot of unusuals!

Something worth noting about the achievements is that there's a handful of them that require doing things OUTSIDE the game, most notably (and infamously) the KZbin achievements, which require you to post a TF2 video to KZbin and have it reach 100,000 views. Unfortunately, upon looking up that set of achievements just now, it appears that they are at this point completely unattainable, due to KZbin deprecating the API that TF2 uses (or used) to track those achievements.

This game took almost 1 and a half decades of my life (and a few thousands of dollars) - Xbox 360 orange box to a $10 CD version of PC TF2 - been here since economy started and class updates were fresh. In hopes of getting unusuals and gambling on loot crates and tour completions (and bad investments); will I ever make it back - Probably never. Even got scammed and had an existential crisis during my childhood. I would never regret it and change it for anything. I just wish it was given more love that it deserves.

As an achievement hunter who literally fought this battle to its end. You need 445+/- hours. The idea that you need to be good implies you are doing all of these achievements ethically which nobody has the time for. Most of the map win achievements can be grinded out in solo mode, even faster if you are willing to use console commands. The multiplayer ones are done with friends. The billions of damage needed for respective classes can be done fast with an idle farm. And as long as you don't play when events are not up you can basically knock out all those throughout the year as well. You will need to brick a key to get a balloonicorn and a saxton hale mask forcing you to interact with the community once or may be twice. But otherwise the game is pretty easily abused if you know the source engine.

This sounds like a very convoluted way to never actually play the game. At that point, what's the reason to try to complete the whole thing? It seems like such a prevalent mentality with the TF2 community, sticking with the game in spite of hating it and never actually playing it to enjoy a fun time. I'm genuinely curious why that happens.

@@Dynamo33 They want me to spend 1000+ hours of life playing a gamemode full of toxic people who rage quit and grief if you even try to play optimally. All of this for one achievement. So yeah, I booted up a modded MVM lobby with 1 life robots and went afk as an engineer pyro team and was done in around 60 hours. I got to keep 998 hours of my life not doing the "intended" grind. And that is just one achievement. There are hundreds of games that exist where achievements are literally just: play the game for 2000+ hours. Most of the fun times for me in that game ended in 2017. And mindlessly grinding robots for over 2 years was never going to be one of those times.

People always say that Overwatch made loot boxes a big thing, but I want to remind everyone that Valve was doing this shit way earlier and went WAY harder with it. It's two fifty just for one random box, where an Overwatch loot crate is two bucks for two. Valve has been grifting people harder for cosmetics than Blizzard since the beginning.

If the increasing price is exponential, and the amount of items which exist is in the 100,000 range of magnitude, then you could just say that, --the price of all items, is the price of the most expensive item, multiplied by a sixth of all the items. The most expensive item is $30,000, so all items would cost something greater than 500,000,000 Dollars, which I'll round up to an approximation of 1 Billion Dollars.

Why not just hack the code source and valve servers to spawn everything into your profile's inventory? A lot less impossible then doing it this way. Even if you get caught, and spend prison time. It'd be better thrn wasting all that time and money.
