As far as the screen goes, I'm liking the readability. NIce and stark, a good contrast of text and color, solid deliniation.

Our group is currently into our 5th session. We've been itching to play since the original 1st books, but are getting the hang of the 2D20 system. Othersin our group of 5 have played Conan and I've been involved with John Carter so it wasn't totally jumping in cold. Subtle differences. The pulp aspect of playing in the WWII setting and incorporating the Mythos is most exciting. We are lucky enough that 3 of the 4 players have prior military service as well as our European Keeper to bring some extra detail to the sessions. It is truly fun and engaging to RP and the dice certainly help create the action AND support the shared narrative. Our Keeper utilized some serial WWII footage that helped create the 1st session feel. While it is theater of the mind, our group utilizes VTT as one of our friends plays remote in Canada. We started with the free starter rules and pre-gens (we ended up playing another scenario rather than the included adventure). Once we decided to continue (we knew we would...) we were tasked with recreating our pre-gens or new PCs under the standard rules. We ended up keeping our characters and reverse engineering them from the Character creation from the Players Guide. This approach helped reinforce the how and why's of mechanics experienced in the first session as well as understanding how the developers created them. Very fun game indeed!

Thanks for sharing these interesting details! Have you been using magic among the PCs?

@@Runeslinger One of our number is a spell caster. Very different feel from standard CoC. Not in a bad way, very balanced with the possibility of failing and/or taking damage, but certainly dishing it out! This aligns with the pulp action of this version. The action is turned up to 11 and while your survival is not assured, you at least feel like you may have a chance against the mythos. There's something inherintly more exciting about facing off against Nazi culitists verses your vanilla cultits of yore. While still a skill based game, it feels almost like a hybrid of a leveling system with its use of XP to apply to different aspects to your PC. These are received at the end of a mission based on several factors and not just failing a skill check to advance like in standard CoC. The ambiguity of the range feels similar to that of the FFG Star Wars game, but feel SW rules explains it better, but barely inho.

@@gregbanks5624 I think they have done well in capturing the Weird War feel. I am particularly enthused about the way magic was done, so your report is very good to read~

Ah, so glad to have happened upon you again Runeslinger. Perfect timing as we play this for the first time this evening. Interested to see how this game mechanic and theme works compared to HEX, Delta Green, and 7th Ed CoC Pulp. I'm liking the pulp and history of this so much represented in the original 6th edition books I have, but have not played. I have played 2d20 from Modiphius under John Carter and love the thematic dice mechanic. I've found it becomes intuitive rather quickly.

2d20 has been fun with my crew for a lot of Star Trek. I hope to run Dune or John Carter next.

I have found that the information they often put into the GM Kit is necessary and should have been in the main book.

Starting to play this. Enjoying it so far while still learning the intricacies of certain rules. How have your games been so far?

I like it enough to have backed Cohors Cthulhu, but it doesn't draw me as strongly as Star Trek Adventures and Dune - mostly for setting reasons (just preference). Anyway, it's a minor hit, staying steady on the charts~

@@Runeslinger I recently played ST Adventures at a game convention and enjoyed it a great deal. I also picked up a few of the Dune books this past year and want to get a campaign going for that, but getting a group together for it seems more challenging. All good games I also have in my somewhat limited collection.
